I have been to Alms Park many times in my career as a Cincinnati wedding photographer! It is such an intimate little park, and its gorgeous in the fall! I recently did an Italian themed vow renewal there (the couple had honeymooned in Italy) and it was the perfect setting, with the stone walls. Cant wait to book another event there!
Alms park is one of the most beautiful parks in Cincinnati. You can walk, hike, or run trails along ridges overlooking the river and city. Or, you can bring a picnic and relax as you watch planes take off from and land at Lunken Airport. In the center of the park, there is a beautiful pavilion and a palyground for the kids. I highly recommend visiting this park for a relaxing day.
On a Wednesday evening, we had a romantic picnic at the Pavillion area while overlooking the hill down to the river. We were there about an hour before others came to the area. Even with the many people that came to where we were, it was still peaceful and it still seemed private. Everyone was friendly and we all watched a beautiful sunset.
Theres a great updated more modern playset and the classic marble slide is still going strong. Plus plenty of trees shade the kids play areas. The castle is beautiful to explore and good climbing trees and trails all around. Plus this park has the best view of Lunken Airport. Definitely one of our top fav parks in Cincinnati!
Much quieter than the nearby as Ault park. Because of this, its a great place to sit and look out at the lovely views of the surrounding area- this park is elevated up on a hill. Some of the things to do there as a standard guest are the playground, and the ever classic marble slide which has been there for ages.
Beautiful park! Lovely view of lunken airport on one side & wonderful view of the Ohio River on the other side. Has walking trails! Very nice place to have a picnic, relax or take the kids to play! Dont forget the one & only infamous concrete slide !! Ive been goin down that slide for 35 years now.... I love that park....
Fairly small park compared to others in the area, but the vistas are breath taking. An amazing overlook of the bend of the Ohio River on one side and an amazing view of the historic Lunken airfield on the other. Some hidden nature trails that are challenging but worth it!
I love this place! Alms Park overlooks Lunken Airport, giving you an excellent view of incoming and outgoing air traffic. The landscaping is very well kept up and the pavilion and pergola make really good photo opportunities! The Park also has a playground for children and plenty of space to take a walk. Its one of the best spots in the area to relax and enjoy a long evening!
I absolutely adore this park. It has a vintage structure that offers amazing photo opportunities for any occasion. Save the date pictures, wedding pictures its great to have a small intimate wedding there. It has amazing photo opportunities as it has an Overlook of the Ohio River as well as lunken airport and is surrounded by forests which are great for picture opportunities. A little disappointed because they installed a new Playset for children that is nowhere near as nice or expansive as the old one.
After visiting Lunken airport for their event today we went here. Fabulous park playground in good condition with newer equipment, and different from most things you see. Climbing equipment for all ages. Unique cement slide that had a line at times after we drew attention to it. Its over by itself beyond the higher swings so dont miss it! Good toddler swings our infant enjoyed. Great overlook of the airport where we could watch helicopters going back and forth to the event below...you wont see those every day I figure. Nicer bathrooms up at the top. We didnt get to visit the buildings up there as they were taken over by wedding prep.
Ive visited this park several times and most recently for a wedding. This park is a great location to visit and check out. There is plenty of shade to enjoy on sunny days and plenty of room to hang out for a picnic. The views are stunning and the top of the hill over looks Lunken airport. One thing we enjoyed doing in the past is getting a couple of slices of Pizza from Ramundos in Mount Lookout and relaxing at the park.
We love this park. It has a great view of Lunkin Field. There are several places in the park for picnicking. Our work group like to have Pizza In The Park once or twice a year. We usually have something to celebrate, a publication or an event. We like the lower shelter. It has three or five picnic tables. So room to serve up the pizza and soft drinks. There is room to bring your dog(s) and play a game of catch.
Im a DJ and I did a wedding here. It was a beautiful place to do a wedding. My customers had their wedding in a building that looks like a castle. It is mainly outdoors so be sure you make note of that when planning your event. The building where my customers were married has a bathroom so no need to worry about that. The views are beautiful.
Wow! Ive been here more than a handful of times and love coming here. Absolute great spot for all types of events or just coming here to relax by yourself. I enjoy how well the place is taken care of and how much of a view the place offers. Its really nice its open until 11 and doesnt close at dusk as most parks. Easy access in and out, lots of pretty flowers during spring and summer. Worth checking out.
You might not realize this park is even here - its entrance is hidden on a side street in a residential neighborhood, but it is well worth seeking out for some of the great views of the Ohio River, Cincinnati Municipal Airport, and the surrounding low lands in general. The 100 acres of the park itself are also very nice with a nice mix of manicured lawns on the hilltop and more rugged forest on the slopes falling away from it. There is a trail through the woods, but its more of a grassy path which is pretty wet in the morning and muddy after a rain. In the more parklike area, there are picnic and playground areas with some well kept public restrooms and a very nice pavilion and pergola. The latter boasts a nice view of the Ohio River, while the overlook at the back of the park has a great view of the Municipal Airport below and a peek (probably better in the winter when the leaves are off) of the Little Miami River beyond (its confluence with the Ohio is nearby and may also be visible in winter).
My granddad brought me to the overlook here at this iconic Cincinnati park so I could watch the airplanes take off and land at Lunken Airport and if course, ride the concrete slide. Attended weddings and other functions at Alms Park through the years. I have brought my kids here and I bring my grandkids today. The playground is upgraded and very inclusive. Each time we leave, they always ask when we will return.
I grew up with this park as one of the many parks in my neighborhood and was able to frequent the park as a child and still do to this day! Up till the point of my fathers passing when I was 15 years of age, my family used this location as the annual location for family reunions so that family outside of immediate family could see one another. This is a stunningly beautiful park with a rest/viewing bench dug out of the hill that people can sit at and see the amazing view of Lunkin Airport and watch as the aircrafts take-off and/or land. There is a concrete slide that has been there my entire life which appears to have been there for the parks existence that has always been one of the fastest slides I have ever rode down (which I do not recommend for children whom are not able to show themselves or easily injured, I assist my 3 years old myself as it can be quite dangerous). I hope to continue to keep this park in my life, heart, and memories while passing what could be considered a tradition of sorts, on to my children and grandchild (and any more future grandchildren) with the hopes they too will love this park as I do with the hopes they too get the chance to experience, have and hold deer in their hearts cherished memories for the rest of their lives to pass on for generations to come! I truly recommend that every Cincinnati resident give this park a visit and take in the view, you will not regret it and likely will make it a habit to go as often you can, try taking a lunch break there, take your lunch and either park next to the wide open view of Lunkin or sit on the concrete bench down in the viewing area and enjoy it all while eating.
Watch the planes take off and land from Lunkin on one side then walk a few hundred yards and you can watch barges and boats come down the Ohio River. The views here are great and there is also a nice, shaded playground. Parking can be a little tight at times, but its still another outstanding park in the Cincinnati area.
A beautiful park with a breathtaking view of the river and massive stone benches to observe planes taking off and landing at the Lunkin air field. I havent been on the trails, but it has a little of everything to offer, including picnic area, playset, and small wedding/reception structures
Another gem in the crown 👑 of the Cincinnati and Greater Hamilton County Park Systems. In a hill, beautifully landscaped and cared for, this lovely, small but elegant park overlooks the Lunken Flood Plains. A joy to experience when the Ohio River is tragically overfilling its banks, this vantage point gives a safe and beautiful view of the destructive Waters below
Alms Park is one of Cincinnatis best green spaces. Its set between the Ohio River and Lunken Airport, on top of a hill that was once owned by early American winemaker Nicholas Longworth. It has broad river views to the west and south, and clear views of the municipal airports runways to the east. In addition to the overlooks there are hiking trials, swing- and play-sets, and picnic tables shaded by massive oak trees. A great place to spend an afternoon.
They have the most beautiful views looking down to the river and the east end of Cincinnati.. Plus a awsome view of Lunkin Air Port.. The play area is more for 5 years old and up not much for baibes to do... But its great for the older kids.. And great for gatherings and weddings... Trails to hike on... Its just a beautiful park

There is place where you can sit on bench or on grass and enjoy the sunset and city view.. there are trees all around and all you hear is birds chirping and wind.. there is place to host event.. there are swings for kids but those were closed that time .. there is beautiful view of nearby municipal airport.. road to park is like driving on hill and view is super.. must visit once with family or friends for a peaceful evening and enjoy the nature

2020-05-27Beautiful views, beautiful landscapes, great structures, confusing trails. Please, mark these trails better! You think youre following one and then you are suddenly on a residential street outside of the park.
