First, the good...Grounds usually look decent and presentable. Management sealed the cracks in the parking lot this year, its a quiet safe place for the most part. The bad, appliances are very old and need replaced, even if it fails it will get replaced with another old appliance, for $1400/month Id think I could have appliances that were built within the last 5-10 years. Everything is very old and dated, little things get missed like light fixtures outside are rusted and nasty looking, just had to sand and repaint mine. Lanscapers do a horrible job with the grass, miss spots, mow unevenly in spots, if you plant something there is a good chance they will kill it with a weedeater, hedges dont get trimmed nearly as often as they should. Residents frequently wreck their cars into the gates somehow, need cameras to catch them. Many residents dont clean up after their dogs and trash left on the ground in front of the compactor instead of being put in the compactor. Overall not a bad place to live aside from there are upgrades needed, new landscapers, and tenants that can drive a car, clean up after their dogs, and put their trash in the compactor
I have lived in Albany Commons for almost a year now. My only complaints would be neighbor related, not to the community itself. The staff are great and have quick responses to any questions and concerns. The facilities are kept neat and clean. Upkeep is great, you wouldnt know how old the facilities are unless you asked. There is always someone on call if there are any problems after hours.I love living here and will be happy to stay here for awhile!
This place is great and Gail is the best! This is a hidden gem amongst millennial infested apartment complexes. This doesnt even feel like a complex. Its an actual community. Its quiet!!! They actually take care of every inch of the property. There are real maintenance gents. They power wash the buildings. Lawn care is here every Thursday all day. They have a dog park for little and big dogs. I mean honestly, this is like a condo resort. Im 47 and dont want to buy a house or a condo. I want to rent. If youre like that, this is the place.
While I had a great showing here, I was told that a hold deposit was required when applying. When I applied on line it was not clear that the application fee AND the hold deposit were nonrefundable. It’s standard practice for app fees to be, but when the $100 goes towards the security deposit —why are you not refunding that? Just a total rip off, security deposit was also priced higher than my rent with and extra $300 pet deposit. Not good business, don’t recommend unless you want to pay an arm and a leg.
We had a fantastic experience at Albany Commons Apartments. Especially the leasing Manager Angie is the best person we have ever met who is really very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . I have loved my time here and will always recommend it to others.
Albany Commons is a joke of an apartment complex. If I could give negative stars, I would. From the very beginning of our lease they have been nothing but a problem. Pushed our move in date back a week and a half to get the apartment ready, and when we finally moved in the apartment had not been cleaned, had broken appliances, and later on, we found out we had bed bugs. Not only did we have bed bugs, but the front office decided to wait even longer after we asked them to get rid of them to actually get rid of them. When we first moved in, they randomly told us that an exterminator would come in and he never did, and we were confused as to why they wanted to bring a random exterminator into our apartment, we figured out why. They let us move in fully knowing there were bedbugs inside of the apartment. The front office is completely unprofessional and seems almost incompetent. We constantly get random letters placed at our door that we will later call about and they will say they have no idea who even sent he letter. Pathetic. For the entire year that we lived here, one of our toilets were broken, even though they came and tried to fix it three different times. Had no microwave for almost an entire month because they couldnt fix it. And when they do inspections, dont ever expect a notice. They will just randomly show up and then tell you you should have gotten a notice. Its an absolutely atriously ran apartment complex and I advise anyone and everyone to stay away from this place. If you like being woken up at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning to yelling and mowing, this is your place! Because they pick the most inconvienent times to do their yard work. The office is a joke, the maintenance team is a joke, everything is a joke. STAY AWAY!!!!
The apartment complex itself is very nice and clean. Maintenance usually shows up within 24 hours and they have always been very friendly. Apartments in general usually aren’t very sound proof, HOWEVER the only real complaint I have is how you can hear absolutely everything your neighbors do!I am woken up no later than 7:00a.m. every weekend bc my neighbors stomp around and are constantly screaming at their kids. However even when there isn’t yelling you can still hear everything. Multiple times a week my neighbor talks on speaker phone late at night, and when I am trying to fall asleep not only am I able to hear her part of the conversation, but also the person on the other end of the phone. You can even hear your neighbors toilets flush, showers and sinks turn on.The complex does hike their prices up every time you renew your lease.... Other than that and the noise part I have really enjoyed my stay here the last 2.5 years.
I moved from Albany Commons to the newer HQ Flats and Im so disappointed I left. Albany Commons is the BEST value in the area. It is an older build (versus the cheaply thrown together newer apt complexes nearby) but the appliances and overall construction is much better! Gail was always kind and attentive, parking was plentiful, very quiet neighborhood etc. The gate would be annoying at times, but so worth it for the size (a 1 BR is like 850 sq ft!), well-built construction (never hear neighbors-not once), and price!
Our apartment was constantly filled with second hand smoke. It was not disclosed to us that this was a smoking property and smoking is actually allowed inside the buildings. Not a nice place for families. Walls are so thin that we could hear our neighbors swearing/ yelling at each other as well as gross bedroom noises every night. We had a terrible time with parking and had to park several buildings away while carrying groceries and our baby.
Do you like living in a nice community that is clean, with a front office that is pleasant and responsive to your needs? Then this isnt the community for you. The front office staff is the literal definition of incompetence. They only communicate with tenants via notes left in doors, and never give advance warning of maintenance stops. For what you pay, this is an overpriced apartment complex - avoid at all costs.
Just moved out after over 3 years and was sad to leave. Gail and the rest of the office staff are great. They always remembered me by name and were super helpful. The community is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. I only used maintenance once but they came out the same day to replace the garbage disposal - the maintenance person was very nice. Can’t recommend this community enough.
Ive lived here twice over the span of 8 years. In just the last year, this place has really gone down.Ive had a major issue with an upstairs neighbor that has 2 big dogs that bark CONSTANTLY. The dogs crap all over the place in front of my apartment so my whole place stinks. They also have a cat that meows all day and is so loud I can hear it in my living room (Their cat is in the hallway that leads upstairs.) Ive emailed management 4 times with no help. I even sent recordings showing how loud and excessive it is.Also, they leave piles of garbage outside and animals get in it. No help from management.Rent was hiked $40 this year to $925 for a 2 bedroom with trashy neighbors above me.Theres another neighbor who had about 12 teenage kids that sit out front and smoke weed all day. This place used to be impeccable. I have noticed that new management has allowed the place to go down hill. I give up. When my lease is up, Im gone.
If you have kids, pets, or smoke, dont move here. They will complain and complain until you either quit smoking or move off of the premises. You cant say what you want in your apartment without getting a complaint. You cant listen to music in your apartment without getting a complaint. You cant have a drink in your own apartment without getting a complaint. Dont move here unless youre retired. You cant even sit on your patio or leave towels out to dry from swimming without getting a complaint. If I could give no stars I would. The drawers get stuck, the floorboards in the kitchen move apart, theres cracks in the closet mirrors, not worth my $895 a month. Its like a prison. Kids dont play outside. This is the MOST UNFRIENDLY apartment complex. The people in the rental office are very very VERY rude. If you get one complaint they will get on you til they kick you out. WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX IN THE NEW ALBANY WESTERVILLE AREA.

2022-06-02Love this place. Starting on my second year living here & I love it. Staff is friendly, helpful & understanding to circumstances. I wish I would have got an apartment without steps or a apartment with the attached garage. Maintenance is quick. My neighbors are great & understanding to me having a busy toddler. I plan to stay 1 more year, hoping the rent increase isnt to drastic.

2022-05-15Ive lived here before and wanted to return after my house sold. Filed out an application online, received confirmation via email, and then was told the app never went through when I followed up to withdraw - now rather nervous as I had to input my SSN and drivers license info.I ultimately decided not to go forward as the pet policy has changed to 75lbs combined weight limit whereas many competitors in the area dont have a weight limit. Im the kind of person that enjoys large breed animals and dont want to be stifled in my selections as my animals will be around much longer than I would be living in this complex. So glad I found an apartment down the street at Hudson Square at the same rate with more amenities and was able to get me in sooner.

2022-07-01My husband and I moved here last June. We had always had a house and not an apartment, so it’s been a big adjustment. The grounds are always kept very nice and neat, and everyone has mostly been very nice and kind here. Our three little grandsons love coming to Momaws and and Popaw’s for long weekend visits. It was disappointing when the rent went up when we renewed our lease, but then so has everything. The front office has always been very nice and kind! Gail and Ray and The manager too are awesome! Everyone is just great!

2022-07-01You just charged my $29.00 processing fee for my rent payment? Some nerve considering nothing is stated in my lease agreement.

2021-07-15We sold our house rather quickly and did not have a new one lined up yet. We made the choice to move into an apartment for a few months until we found something. Albany Commons was an excellent choice! The community itself is a hidden gem. The grounds and amenities are nicely kept up. Everyone in our entire building was so nice and a long term resident! The apartment was very spacious for a one bedroom. The community is very quiet and peaceful. I would recommend living here!
