I had a broken front tooth and begged them to do something to fix it they went ahead and told me I had to get all my teeth pulled. I was like ok well how long will it be till I have my teeth. They said six months. I said what about the partial plate. They told me well it costs $350 Mine fit perfectly! And I am going to have my permanent ones done in about a month and I’m overall very happy with the service!
Thankful for you all being able to TAKE WALK-INS The wait time was about 2 hours for me but if your condition is serious enough it’s definitely worth getting a referral which at least allows other doctors to know you’re not self diagnosing yourself. Now the x-rays they did take were okay although i did have to have more taken, again though, it showed the doctors i was referred to that I in fact had the impacted wisdom’s. All and all I feel like going here definitely sped up the whole process of getting the 4 wisdoms out. I encourage others in the same position with late wisdom tooth removal to at least get your x-rays done here just have that referral because just getting into an appointment for most places is about a month wait list. Emergency dentists DO NOT exist so get in there ASAP
I had some dental work done but I was supposed to be scheduled to come for the rest of the work once permission was done to my insurance company. It’s been two seasons now and I’m still not scheduled. I phone in but nobody answers my call. Nobody calls back for the most part either. I have Medicare replacement insurance called WellCare. They cover all of my work but the Reception person wants me to pay what’s left by my secondary insurance that they selected as primary. What needs to happen is they can bill the first insurance and bill the second insurance next. All of it will be paid. The patient is innocent. It’s open season for me to select another plan but I’m not done with my dental work yet. Someone needs to return my calls. Also someone did call me back but she was really hateful. She even hung up on me before I was done talking while taking things out of context. She said she knows about people on Medicaid. That’s good but I’m not on Medicaid. I have Medicare early due to disability. I’m now Medicare age. The rest of the staff are professional. Customer service can be improved with the telephone staff.
Had a appointment 1/24/2022 I believe thats when pipes broke they managed to call, I however, was Putin hospital 23rd about 9:00 PM I had surgery the morning of 24th. They called me professionals.I relyon my insurance to give ride.I have 5 speed I had half my left foot amputated diabetic got dropped off 3:15 pm went back 7 minutes filling out papers got done x-rays teeth got bad bones need worked and need pulled ouch 20 minutes max called ride he said he was on his way I was ask if ride was coming I apologized it was 4:30 It gets cold outside waiting when I offered to go out wait was told no stay seated by 5:30 still was there. Jenn whom I ask her name thought it was just shi*** what he did he had another person in back. No mask I had mine on I dropped my insurance cards, Driver license, on floor he backed out like he was leaving me. Thats when, my hero Jenn yelled HEY WHERE YOU GOING He stopped backed up I got in. I go back 21st but, I wont have the same insurance. I got another I pray that whomever takes me not forget me. The building is beautiful area looks like more area to work. Told my friend she needs a tooth fixed call you. Akron Family Dental.🙂
Had to switch dentist after several years with the same dentist because of insurance and network. Anyone who actively gets there routine cleanings and exams knows how hard this can be! The customer service here is Great!! Ok! Everyone is very pleasant and my cleaning was definitely professional and precise. The ONLY thing was the wait time. Otherwise 5 star customer experience.
I am a grown woman but if you would see how ridiculous lI am at the dentist you would think I was a child, the Drs made me feel amazing, well as amazing as they could. What I mean is they helped me get over my fears and didnt get frustrated or irritated with me,they really tried to lower my anxiety level and make me feel as comfortable as possible without allowing me to fluster them by breaking my tooth.Thank you guys so very much Ill be back as much as it takes to get these teeth together and I will recommend them to everyone.Thank you again Akron Family Dentist...
A complete transformation from when I was here January 2020!The new DR. is amazing! This was the first dental experience that I have had with no pain. The injection site was perfectly numb. I was waiting for the injection to happen when the Dr. was already done.I felt no pain with both drilling and filling. 24 hours later and I still have no pain! Plus they were able to get me a cleaning all in the same day!A very knowledgeable staff made for a quick and awesome experience. I see why they are booked solid! So if you want to have a positive dental experience, look no further. They are the best in the industry!
Ive had many visits here and the receptionists are always rude in some way, especially if you are coming in as a walk-in. However, the dental assistants are always super nice, helpful, and non-judgemental. Some of the dentists are better than others. Dr. Yeh is awesome, both his dental work and bedside manner, someone just needs to get his chair fixed.
Think of this place as a factory just trying to pump another dental procedure out the door, but you have to wait an hour after your set appointment time to even be seen. This was my first time, which it seemed that way for a lot that day. I got there 10 minutes before my appointment to fill out any paperwork. Then I just sat and sat. The lady at the front desk was very nice, but also didn’t explain much. After 9:30 rolls around, I’m finally seen for a standard cleaning, but it’s been many years since my last cleaning from a previous DDS, so I fully expected it to take a little longer. The hygienist was kind and gentle, and seemed to do a thorough job. When the doctor came in, the hygienist asked if he looked at my X-rays, which he replied he couldn’t remember who’s he looked at. So brother, do I have cavities or not? When are you planning to tell me, my next visit in 6 months? Don’t bother with this place.
Incompetent Staff!! Scheduled an appointment a month in advance and told them exactly what it was for - tooth extractions - got to my scheduled appointment 15 minutes early, STILL waited and hour and 15 minutes before being called back - only to be told by the Dentist that they scheduled the appointment for routine check-up instead of tooth extractions and it would be another 45min to an hour or longer to get it done!!! I left!!Front desk staff was rude and unhelpful - I hope the dentist finds a better practice to work in!! Will never return!!
They used to be a great place for me and my son to get our 2 yearly cleanings, but now you can barely get in for one cleaning a year and they reschedule for that appointment. They are even very rude when they do reschedule you for an appointment they originally made for you. I hope they get their staffing together but until then, dont even waste your time.
The only nice thing I can say about this place is some of the people are nice. Some of them. There are a lot of attitudes and they treat you like youre not educated. I went here to have my teeth checked to see if any of them could be saved. They said it would be better to have them pulled. That was not necessary. Some of the teeth were very hard to pull and literally bruised my face from the dentists hands pushing on me struggling to get them out. I have serious anxiety when it comes to dentists because I had a bad experience when I was a kid. They said they would give me something to calm my nerves before starting. They didnt because they never communicated with the pharmacy or me. I was, to say the least, traumatized. I had to go multiple times and was never given anything for the pulling and had nightmares and didnt sleep for weeks. The temporary dentures were better than the permanents. They had to be adjusted multiple times, but they looked good and fit pretty well for healing dentures. The permanent dentures do not fit correctly. The bite is off even though I had them readjust the bite multiple times as well. The teeth dont look good to the point they changed the way I look. They put zero effort to make my dentures look like my own teeth. I spent enough money and time there that my teeth should look like they belong in my mouth and not like I stole them from someone. This place is extremely unprofessional. I will never go back and do not recommend this place to anyone.
Root Canal and Filling Success!I had to have a root canal done awhile back and unfortunately for me I had a rough time with it. However, Akron Family Dental got me right back in and they were able to file my filing down a which helped me get out of pain. The tooth was “bruised” (this is normal) for quite some time but after a few weeks it’s completely healed.Although the office is extremely busy, I’m grateful that these Dentists even take patients with State Insurance. I called numerous places who wouldn’t even book an appointment with me because I had Medicaid and some of the ones that would made it more about “selling” me something as opposed to taking care of my problem.Until other dentists step up and start treating patients with State Insurance this office remains one of the only hero’s that will help those in need and I applaud their efforts. They even take emergency appointments which is absolutely amazing. So although it may be hard to reach them and the office maybe busy upon arrival, they offer great patient care and so their best to provide an absolutely wonderful experience for the person being treated.5 Stars!
Was having wisdom tooth pain. Waited an hour to be told that I can’t be prescribed antibiotics bc they “don’t work for mouth infections”?? She prescribed me a mouthwash instead and the office has not called back my pharmacy so that I can go pick it up. I have gone 2 days in a row and still can’t pick up my prescription bc of this.
I will not return, Ive been going here for 6 yrs. 3 weeks ago I lost a tooth. The dentist said if this would been handled correct we would not be pulling it. My response what the correct way of handling it. She replied regularly schedule check ups. I replied I have been coming here for last 6 yrs every 6 months for my regularly scheduled check ups. Hmmmmmm there fault... then my sons check up was 4 weeks ago and his orthodontist today said he has 2 visual cavities that should of never been over looked. What the heck LETS GET IT TOGETHER....
I had scheduled an appointment for extraction it took 2 months to get too my official extraction date for them to text me the day before my appointment saying my appointment was change to an earlier time which was on a Sunday ( mind you they’re not open on the weekends) my appointment was on Monday I had to wait until Monday morning to call to let them know that wasn’t right, so I get to my appointment 20 minutes early just for the receptionist to leave my appointment paper sitting on the desk and not even put my name into the computer. So when I go to see why they haven’t called my name just for them to tell me I had to reschedule my appointment for an later date after I sat there for almost 1 1/2 hrs such unprofessional employee they need to fix this issue, now everyone else was very professional.
This place is absolute nonsense. No reason to even schedule an appointment when you sit and wait two hours for it anyways. They take walk ins before appointments. Try to reschedule so you don’t sit and wait any longer and you can’t even get in for weeks and weeks. Every single person in the lobby with me was waiting way past their appointment time and everyone was getting irritated. Maybe you shouldn’t schedule so many people at the same time and their wouldn’t be an issue.
I havent been able to get to a dentist or do anything for myself in a while. People always say how pretty and white my teeth are, but they are not so pretty from where a dentist is sitting. Calling this place was a terrible experience because Im already embarrassed about a dentist seeing how bad my teeth really are. Andrea was who I spoke with and she was very sarcastic and rushed me off the phone. She kept saying what my appointment time was but never gave a date so I had to reminder that she needed to give me a date. Her and someone was laughing as I was talking about my problems with my teeth and how painful it is. She had never asked my name and her reason was she had heard it on the message I left. Even if you already had me pulled up that was still rude and she kept talking over me trying to rush. It actually ruined my day.
Very pleased atmosphere and the receptionists were Peaceful and professional. The assistant was informing and a comfort during the entrance process and friendly. Dr. Anna is exceptional in her bedside manner and knowledgeable towards my procedure. Miss Anna explained everything before touching me a d I really appreciate that. I recommend Akron Family Dental warmly to everyone.
I had a root canal today and I had Dr Kristen Donison. I am a 63-year-old man who has had root canals in the past but Dr Donison is the absolute best, I felt no pain then and after. This is the first time Ive had a procedure at Akron Family dental and can only assure that with my experience youre going with the best.
Medically sound, but an administrative nightmare. This place gets the award for most poorly managed dental practice in Akron. The wait times are absurd. After 50 minutes, I left and won’t be back. Akron isn’t a huge city. At some point the inability to provide timely service will affect your bottom line. I look forward to it.
The front staff are extremely helping and very nice. They are always able to get you in fairly quick. I do however have several issues with this dentists office. They treat the Medicaid patients different. You are shoved into a tiny little room in the back of the office. You see the least experienced dentist and they always want to do all the services they can that same day. If I make an appointment for a cleaning and they find a cavity they always try and push me to do it the same day. Also, the dentist who was clearly fresh out of school wanted to fill like 6 teeth. My last visit to my old dentist was 6 months prior and I had no cavities. I usually take great care of my teeth and I felt that they just wanted to take as much money as they can get from Medicaid. I wish I could afford REAL insurance so I could go back to my regular dentist, but I am stuck going here until that changes. If you truly care about oral hygiene you would want people to have healthy teeth, not teeth riddled with fillings.
This used to be my favorite dentist until my main dentist left. I went a couple days ago to get an X-ray for my wisdom teeth and the new dentist told me I’ll be fine. Pain is normal. Then she went back in my mouth and stabbed my wisdom tooth really really hard with her nail and I almost bit her but her finger went out of the glove she stabbed me so hard. I went to another dentist two days after I went there because my gum became super swollen and the dentist said I needed my teeth removed immediately. I’m sorry for the bad review but the new dentist really doesn’t know what exactly she is doing or what should be done
I went to this dentists office today as I had a tooth that need to come out. They were extremely busy but did a great job of tending to the paitents and trying to get them seen and out. There was some issues with my insurance front desk work with me to get that resolved. The hygienist and the Dentist were great got my teeth clean and tooth pulled they paid it a smooth as possible. I see the reviews but until I personally have an issue I will continue going back and will recommend to friends and family for their dental needs.
They made me wait over an hour for my appt in my car because their waiting room was full and people were standing just to tell me when they called me I took to long to come into the building and skipped me. When I got upset they called the police. The staff is horrible and they left tools in my gums after my last procedure.
Great service and awesome staffs!!! Although the wait is a little long, all staffs did a really great job accommodating their patients. I went there to get my teeth cleaned and then again for wisdom teeth removal. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Dr. Dmitriy Yarovitsky is my dentist and he did a great job removing my wisdom teeth. He took it out before I realize what had happened! :)
Everybody at this office definitely deserves a raise! I brought my daughter in to have wisdom teeth removed, and I just watched the staff as I waited. People were very rude to the receptionists, who continued to smile and try to help them regardless. The ladies in the pink jackets were constantly on the go, some even looked as if they were sweating, and once again, they all had smiles on their faces. This place is like a well oiled machine with an amazing staff. The doctors even talked to patients in the waiting room as if they knew them on a personal level. For as many people that I watched come in and out of this office, I was very surprised to see how much attention these people were able to give to their customers. The staff knew their names, spoke with their children, stopped a baby from crying, and got a cup of water for an elderly woman. On top of it all, my daughters procedure went well and she has had very little pain at all. I will be returning to this office, along with my family. Great work ladies and gents!
Would recommend this place to others. I was in a lot of pain from my wisdom tooth. Was able to get in the next day when other places were not able to schedule me in for a week or two. Was taken back for my X-rays within 15 mins of signing in and 20 to see the dentist. Dentist numbed me checked to make sure i was numbed up good and removed both of my top wisdom teeth with no pain.
I got fillings done there and I’ve been in excruciating pain for 2 weeks, with each day worst than the other. I was instructed to take Motrin and Tylenol for the pain, which hasn’t helped. I was prescribed hydrocodone and flexerol, which helped a little but only last for about 3 hours. My symptoms are getting worse by the day and it’s starting to swell, to the point I can’t chew, so I can’t eat! Ive been back and forth 5 times to see if they can fix the problem. Which hasn’t been resolved so I’m just stuck in one of the most horrible pains i have ever felt until I either go to a new dentist or They come up with a solution whenever that would be.
This is absolutely one of the best dental experiences I have had, and this is from someone who has had a fear of dentists for most of their life. I tend not to even go unless there is a problem. I chipped a piece off of my wisdom tooth a week ago, and had some mild pain and discomfort. I went to the Locust St. clinic first, and they insisted it could not be pulled normally, and that I would have to be seen by an oral surgeon to cut it out. I was terrified, but I assumed they knew best, since they had taken my x-rays (decided in less than 15 seconds after looking at the tooth that it would have to be surgically removed). The only problem was that the surgeons they recommended would not be able to see me for several weeks. I resigned myself to taking tylenol, and then I started looking up other dentists. I called Akron Family Dental on a Monday, and told them what I had been told by the other office, and they made an appointment for me in 2 days. Dr. John Brooke was who I saw, and he is wonderful. The best dentist I have ever been to. He was friendly and professional, and told me he would definitely be able to take care of it. He laid out all of the risks that can happen with a wisdom tooth extraction to make sure I knew and was prepared for what could happen, and then promptly went to work with the help of his assistant (another lovely person named Rachel). He had to stick me more than once with the Novocaine (or whatever that was), and I barely felt discomfort. It took him less than 15 minutes to do work to some cavities he discovered, and to pull out the tooth (that part took less than 3 minutes tops). He was so fast and did such a smooth job, I had to ask if he had finished taking the tooth, because I didnt believe he couldve taken it out so quickly and perfectly. I was thrilled...as much as you can be at the dentists anyway :). Highly recommended, and I hate having to go to the dentist. I would go back in a heartbeat, I just hope I dont have to for awhile.
I do not recommend. I made an appointment because the receptionist I talked to when I called said they accepted my insurance. Same day appointment so I was stoked, but I dont live close so I rushed to be there on time, which I was. Checked in, went smooth, they were very busy. Waited 40 minutes for them to inform me that they in fact did not accept my insurance. When I tried to inquire about why the other recpreceptio said differently, a third receptionist snapped at me that my insurance company hasnt taken them off their list yet. So more than an hour of my busy day was wasted because they apparently dont communicate with their staff well. If they cant handle basic patient check-in, Im afraid to know what kind of dental work is being provided.
Awful!! I came in because I broke a tooth and my regular dentist office was booked. I was in extreme pain. The dentist I saw was like 20yrs old. She was worried about another tooth that didnt even matter at this point and never cared about the tooth that was broken and hurt. I told her Im in so much pain that I dont care if you extract the painful tooth now. She kept talking about another tooth not even near my broken tooth. She made me out to be a pill seeker!! So I was able to get into my normal dentist later that day and he took care of my tooth right away. Oh with no pain pills!! All I wanted was release from the pain. I will never go back to this place. They wanted to do an expensive procedure because I have great insurance not really help the patient!!
I have been going there for years. Like at least 5-6 years. I had a root canal done about 5 years ago and still to this day it hurts to even eat on that tooth. You can see where my real tooth is. My teeth are horrible since coming here. My front front tooth is broke in half. And my back molar was broken pretty bad so I went there to get it pulled cause there was barely any tooth even left and the dentist literally drilled my whole tooth away AND STILL PUT A FILLING OVER TOP OF IT!!!! Its horrible looking. You can see it when I smile and it is in the far back of my mouth. Horrible horrible.
I cant say enough good things about this place. If they merely did excellent work, which they do, this would be commendable, in and of itself. But the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating--and by this I mean that every appointment Ive been to, the service quality was exceptionally high. Whoever is responsible for hiring at this place apparently is a good judge of character.I wish now that I had jotted down the names of the people who took care of me on each visit, so that I could credit them by name. Unfortunately I only thought to do so on my most recent visit. Many thanks to Dr. Farrkh, and Kim, who assisted her, for making me feel so at ease while I was there the last time.
I have been dealing with the dental office for years and have had good experiences and bad experiences. I decided its time for me to move on. last straw was they schedule me for fillings on Saturday at 8 am. get there. No one is there stating they dont open til 9. Why set up an apt at 8 am then. got fillings done and needed to get my filling checked out. called in and they say they dont do Saturday appts.how did I come in on Saturday to get filling done then? didnt schedule follow up til 3 months later when I got off for spring break. there has to be better dental offices out there!
Akron family dental is the best! My dad has taken my brother and I here ever since we were old enough to go to the dentist. Ive always had great teeth thanks to the team at Akron family dental! My recent experience is the reason for my review today. On 4/18/17 I was on day 3 of waiting on an emergency dentist to take my wisdom tooth out. It got to the point that my infection was getting worse and I was tired of waiting. I called Akron family dental and was able to get in to the office an hour later. I was quickly seen and they understood my concern and Dr. Lee was able to get my tooth out quicker than I ever couldve imagined! He caused me no pain/bruising/swelling!! Im truly amazed at the work he does. They have such an awesome team here and I would recommend every single person I know to go here! Great job Akron family dental! I LOVE you guys!!!
Totally awesome visit today I mean they are on the ball with cleaning and sanitizing as well as making sure your visit is fast friendly and efficient. Forgot the girls name who did my ex rays but she was so sweet and I honestly can’t wait too go back and see them again!
Absolutely Horrible experience here. Went for one problem they COMPLETELY blew me off for that. Theres not much we can do about that. Well thanks for no effort. And then went for 3 fillings. They called me back pretty quick. Then numbed me left for almost 40 minutes where the numbing was starting to wear off, (in pain the entire time) Then drilled and left for another 10-15 minutes. DEFINITELY do not go here. They are horrible!
Definitely not. Unless you want more problems with your teeth. I have been in more pain for the last 4 weeks since getting fillings done! Went back and the dentist said idk you might need a root canal. They don’t do root canals but my first visit there a lady was getting one done next to me. So I went and paid cash and got an exam and they said no root canal but it’s your bite. Fixed my bite for the 2nd time after the dentist at Akron said he did. I am in so much pain living off ibuprofen and now having stomach issues from taking too much ibuprofen. I wouldn’t even send my worse enemy here!
Six years. Six years of fighting an erroneous balance-bill for this in-network provider, reported to a creditor without ever attempting to correct the address on file or make contact by phone. Forget about the billing department: rudeness isnt enough; they dont even call back and in some cases refuse to take the call at all. Lets not even talk about the two weeks of jaw twitching due to a shoddy molar filling. Hint: in-network providers cant charge balance bills under most plans, and you shouldnt trust a dental office that tries to go around that rule. Fighting this bill for two years has cost me way more than $78, but theres no way Im letting this dishonest business win.
I dont care what any of the negative reviews say, this place is amazing!! My husband woke up in excruciating pain and needed his wisdom tooth extracted ASAP. I called about 30 dentists in the area, no one would see him and most of them dont accept medicaid. I called this place and they told him to come right in. Even though their parking lot and waiting room was full, he was seen within 20 mins! They did a great job with his extraction, and also did a filling on a cavity while he was there. The staff was friendly and efficiant as well. We will definitely be making this our go to office!!
Go here if you want to wait an hour for your appointment and shotty dental work. Came back months after the young man with the eyebrows worked on me because I was in 1000x more pain on every single tooth he worked on than what I had before. He was so embarrassed he acted like I was never a patient there and they had no file on me! Also I expect to be seen before a walk-in of I had a schedule appointment!
Dr. Wright is an amazing dentist. Every time I have had to have any kind of work done she would spend time making sure I understood exactly what she was going to do (and why) and answered any questions I had about what to expect. I should state, I am a TERRIBLE dental patient. The sounds alone freak me out, so I know Im not easy and she has been nothing but supportive, informative, professional and just nice. I highly recommend her and her practice.
Would give them alot lower rating if I could. Got 6 fillings done . The dentist jabbed my jaw with the needle swear he was trying to break my jaw .after novacaine wore off teeth hurt worse which is to be expected but its been one whole month and still cant chew and just today one of my fillings fell out. When I went in to have it fixed they said they would have to jab my jaw again and cut the gums. It should have been an easy fix .couldnt pay me to go there again.Anyone that goes there is just a guinea pig to them to see what works and what doesnt.so if you truly hate someone I suggest you send them there.
Every time Ive been here Ive had to wait at least an hour after my scheduled appointment. I already have dentist anxiety, this makes it much worse. Finally got called back after an hour, then was in the chair for 20 min. No one came in and my anxiety had topped out, I had to walk out. Had to call buckeye to tell them, and help me find a new dentist.
Me and my mom had a 1:20 appointment we arrived there early at 1:00 we waited and waited and waited and waited and waited again, did I say that we waited yes finally at 2:20 we got tired of waiting and left. The staff was very unprofessional and rude I do not recommend this dental office for anybody. Thanks for nothing. Now we have to look for another dental office.
I’ve been using this dentist for about 5 years. Today is my last visit here. As I type I’ve been waiting 1hr and 15 minutes for my appointment. I typically wait over an hour per visit. Staff at the desk is usually very unhelpful when it comes to telling me why it’s taking so long. Lots of dentists in Akron...I would suggest you look elsewhere for your dental needs.
I have a gritty, rough surface over several of my teeth, after having 8 fillings replaced. The inside of my mouth is chewed up from the clinicians mishandling of her tool. The dentist administered 11 shots of anesthetic for the days work in my mouth. As a result, my eyelid completely closed, my vision became blurry, and I felt my heart racing. My 12 year old received 3 shots for one small cavity in a molar. Her cheek twitched all night long. We went in for routine cleanings. The helpful hygienist asked if we would like to have some dental work done right then and there, as they had some open chairs. Hindsight, I believe this dentist was more concerned with revenue than dentistry and compassion. I believe he wanted to keep his chairs filled. I believe the 8 filling replacements were not all necessary, but provided revenue from the insurance company. I know the clinical helps skills were very substandard. We will never patronize this clinic....again!
THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!Having a natural fear of the dentist is normal. Whether it be from a fear of being taken advantage of by a shady Doctor or the obvious, fear of pain; I have always had a dissatisfaction with Dentists as a whole.Well this office is a welcome change. They are attentive to your needs and very friendly, they called my Insurance before any service was done so I dont have any billing surprises, and having not been to the Dentist in over 7 years very gentle in there cleaning and work they performed. Dr Adam and his staff are solid people and very attentive to your needs. Thanks for the recommendations and I will be happy to see you in 6 months for my next cleaning!
I would not recommend anyone to go there. My husband went there for a tooth that was loose and the dentist said theres was nothing wrong just to sit on it . That there was nothing wrong with it and sent him on his way that his ex rays was fine. He went to get a second opinion and the other dentist checked it out and wiggled it and said it was fractured.
Wait time was about two hours in the waiting room. The wait time in the exam room Was maybe 20 mins. I got a tooth removed and when I asked what I should do for pain the dentist said take anti inflammatory meds. I called back the next day because the pain was a 10/10 on pain level the dentist said again just take anti inflammatory meds. Ended up in the Er room because the pain was ridiculous.the Er Dr I seen says what kinda dentist pulls a back tooth outand thinks there is not going to be any pain. Also the dentist prescribed me a antibiotic that i was allergic to and wouldnt change it to a different med I could take ....all in all do not go
This was the most unprofessional place that I have ever been to. Its a giant assembly line for people who have Medicaid/Caresource. The doctor was in and worked on me for a few minutes, then someone else came in, and then a third person did the restoration. The final tooth surface was so sharp that my tongue got cut and I had to file down the surface myself with a nail file.I had insurance through my employer. With 2 visits total in less than 3 months. they not only totally ignored my TMJ issues and kept forcing my jaw open wider than it will go (Ive had reconstructive surgery), which caused me a great deal of pain and inability to talk for days. When I complained, I was told to suck it up for a few more minutes. I also wasnt anesthetized enough, and again was told to suck it up. They completely overcharged my insurance. After paying several hundred out of pocket, my insurance came back and the EOBs said I should have paid about $150 less than they charged me. I ended up having two root canals, with a buildup of one of the tooth surfaces. After telling them that Id rather lose the tooth and not have to deal with major infection due to other health issues that I have, they convinced me that a root canal was the best option and did a build up of the tooth. I refused to go back for the 3rd visit, which they billed my insurance for illegally saying that I was treated in the office on that day.Within 2 months of the work, the tooth snapped at the gum-line and now will have to be extracted. So, not only am I out a few hundred dollars, I *still* am going to loose the tooth. When asked about the difference in price between my insurance and their numbers, I was given a run around. Ill never see that money again, and now get to try and find another dentist. My dentist retired, and I hoped Id found the place that would make me like going to the dentist again as one of their phone people told me. WRONG!Thanks for absolutely nothing.... but increasing my panic and anxiety and making me never want to go to another dentist again.
The experience i had here was terrible. For all those looking for a dentist, this one is not it. For a place to be a profession ,it strays far left of professional. As others have previously stated, you go to this place for one issue, only to turn around and come back for another issue concerning the same issue. These people sent me to a oral surgeon who contradicted the diagnoses that they put out. So my advice to all, when it comes to your well being, seek out the best place for you.akron family medical is definitely not it. If you want just a pulling, then go there, for all things else go elsewhere.
I went here with my boyfriend and the front desk ladies were decent but they seemed very overwhelmed and rushed people away from them. The whole place seemed to be one big revolving door how many people were in and out in the time we were there. The work he had done was horrible. They filled a cavity on a tooth and ended up having to pull it right after because they didnt look at the xray good enough We were furious and have had to return because of an infection he got . Not only did they fill a cavity on a tooth they pulled out right after, or just get an infection , they also let him go home with a cavity and didnt tell him until the return visit. The reasoning behind why they didnt fill it the first time was because it was small..The goal of this place seemed to be to not take care of something little or prevent future problems so down the line that means more work which means more money. There is no other explanation on why they would let him sit with cavities and in pain for as long as they did.To top it off I got my teeth cleaned there which was the worst cleaning Ive ever had from a dentist I might as well of done it myself and have had problems with my teeth ever since. We will never go back , we will never ever recommend them to anyone. If I could of given them a zero I would have . If you like your teeth do not I repeat do not visit this place.HERE IT IS FIVE MONTHS AFTER AND HE HAS HAD RECURRING PROBLEMS FROM THE SAME WORK DO NOT GO HERE WILL BE LOOKING INTO FURTHER ACTION GOING TO A DIFFERENT DENTIST AND CALLING ATTORNEYS PLEASE BE VERY CAUTIOUS GOING HERE
Told us they could do a root canal on my daughter..... With Knowing all along they couldnt.... They were going to use her as a guinea pig to practice!!!!! Gave her 2 shots in the hole of the tooth which shot her to the Moon!!!! Never numbed, so they just said HMMMMM, guess we cant practice!!!! We left with her in severe pain from shots, I paid cash at reputable dentist later that day who gave her 1 shot into gum by tooth which numbed it 🤔..... This facility is probably OKAY for cleaning or filling (maybe)..... Definitely a learning clinic for those out of schooling
Went there to have my broken front tooth filled back up temporarily. She did a great job until she shaved the filling down to where my front teeth are now extremely uneven.. she claimed she couldn’t fill them evenly because of the way my bottom teeth are.. how’d the other dentist office do it then?? I’m going somewhere else. This is ridiculous.
I have been going here for years and i have not had one bad visit. The boctors i haved have been grate and they make shuer you are tacking cair of. My wife just went and hada tooth pulled yesterday and she was nervis as all get out but they made her feel welcome and relaxed and she pulled through it. So i have nothing bad to say about them.
Well since my usual doctor is no longer here this whole place is trash except for maybe one or 2 assistants the people that answer the phones (if they even do answer) are nothing but rude and nasty and the lady dentist (I did not care to bother remembering her name) doesnt care to take the time to fix your teeth shes just going to pull them all out or try to if she feels theres too much to do dont bother going here please do ever one a favor and update your website and let them know the good doctor(kyeong hwan kim) is not here any more
I walked in to the most rude customer service, the receptonalist ladies were rude! They had an attitude. The one lady was easedropping in my conversation and as I was walking out the door was screaming my business and got smart with me. I didnt appreciate that all that. She made it seem as if I was trying to be a pain but this is a new experience for me and I wanted to know the correct information there was no need for her rude comment or to be yelling at me as I walk out door about what was said!
~Many fillings replaced (many unnecessary)~Dentist walks in barely says hi, no explanation, straight to it~Anesthetic overkill (face, eye & lid, nose numb) could not move them. Difficulty swallowing. Asked if this was normal before leaving (told yes), Lasted 10+ hrs~ No meds given, pain & swelling for days~ Dentist drills out teeth and says shell (asstnt) take care of the rest, walks out (cold transfer). Never returned or checked asstnts work~ Asstnt was very nice and put forth a great effort. We must all begin somewhere. However, I am certain my fillings must be replaced.1. They are not tightly packed. Sugar gets into them and causes immediate pain. I did not have this before.2. They feel week and sensitive to chewing anything.3.*She did not smooth out the outter surfaces leaving clumps of gritty material. (SHE NEVER FLOSSED IN BETWEEN MY TEETH after the fillings, nor went over them with an instrument to check for obstruction).*With my tongue I can feel the clump of material that almost connects my two molars together.* My floss gets caught up by it, tangled, and snaps.*Food always harbors within.(More decay waiting to happen)* Ive had tooth aches ever since.I agree that the environment feels like an unsanitary, revenue driven, sweat shop/assembly line for the exploitation of govt funding. The rest is questionable...
My wife was seen and was told she would have to have all her teeth pulled and get dentures . So all teeth were pulled . When it came time for dentures the wife went to several appointments for fitment . The dentures finally arrived . OMG I think they swapped her detures with a horses dentures . She couldnt close her mouth. The dentures were so huge and not natural looking at all . You would figure they would have cast her own teeth since she had all her teeth . But of you want teeth for a halloween costume or gag gift woth thousands this is the place. After several attempts to (make the dentures fit) and look better becase she complained and complained , we were told there was nothing more they could do . So if you want teeth you can not use and to look like a horse and can not close your mouth i highly recommend the place . Dont get your hopes up for nice dentures . And on top of it all , wait times are ridiculous at best . It is an assembly line . Every shows up at the same time and u sit and wait and wait and wait . GOOD LUCK !!!!! Go elsewhere for dentures !
I cannot give this place enough credit! They are caring, professional, patient, and they treat you with the respect you deserve, ( I no I sound like an infomercial lol) but they are really worth you stopping in. I have been getting some work done here now, an it’s been consistent with the care, and they do they’re best to work with you!! Trust me they are a 5 star outfit.. I know I can only speak for me, but it’s been awesome to go there.. an I drive from freakin Streetsboro, so that should tell you something.
Two stars instead of one because the staff were friendly when I went there, but its IMPOSSIBLE to call them. Ive been trying to get ahold of them for a week now to have them send my x-rays to my new dentist (I moved to another city). Ive called at least a dozen times, and theyve never answered the phone. Their voicemail box is full, so you cant even leave a message.
I got two extractions done and it’s been a week and my mouth hurts more then what it’s is I called to have them check my mouth they say come as a walk in and we’ll check on them and when I got here they was so rude the front desk people and I’ve been waiting for 5 hours in severe pain and still not been seen the doctors don’t really know what they doing they need shut down or new workers
Cant get ahold of them, phone goes to voicemail.. if the voicemail is not full and you get to leave a message, a receptionist who hates her job and acts like you calling is an inconvenience. Well, I wasnt a new patient my family and I all USED to go there, we will find another place since they obviously arent able to help their patients. Place has gone down hill since the owner left.
Thot I found a good dentist till they pull ur teeth and gv u 60mg motrin because of course everyone is a pill popper could aleast been 500 mg.. so when I call them they say take Tylenol w it come ...so now up in horrible pain...never will return here..I will find a dentist that cares about there payients...
I have put off going back to a dentist for years cause I was terrified after my last experience I have to give all the ladies at the front desk my thanks for making me feel comfortable very sweet and pleasant ,Dr Kyu and his assistant keisha more than a five star for making me so comfortable and getting me through this appt and beyond my fears of past horrible experience they both were awesome very gentle and I felt no pain I will gladly say I will keep my next appointment and fo back best dentist Ive ever been too
Had four front fixed still waiting a whole montg for them to tell me that my new new replacements were in they cap my front teeth an it has cracked again like the last ones an im upset set they never pick the phone up my teeth hurt still really bad an no one will see me until they fix them then i can go pain rating is a 7 right now still .
I got my wisdom tooth pulled And I asked for antibiotics and they demanded I did not get none ..while the dentist worked on 6 other people and guess what I ended up with an infection esophagus swollen shut and I I was in the ICU for 4 days ....I tried to sue but u cant sue dentist never go to them they have dirty knifes

2022-02-09I called a month in advanced and scheduled for my wisdom to be pulled the day I arrived the doctor told me “O, yea you definitely need those pulled” then instructed that they can’t do the procedure and I need to go somewhere else and I wasted a whole hour sitting there taking X-rays ect.. and still billed my insurance with no treatment. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE

2022-07-15Very nice people working there, very professional. Started as a walk in and came back for extractions which was the easiest and most pain free extraction I have ever had. Sometimes the wait is a little long but well worth it

2022-02-23Worst dentist office. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Went through months of pain and suffering for a partial and caps. Not even a month later caps broke because they didnt do it right. They tried to charge me to have it fixed. New dentist is rough and refuses to numb anyone and proceeded to break the caps after replacing them. Was told I could walk in with my partial Ive had not even two weeks to have it adjusted. Now theyre not taking walk in and appointments are 3 weeks out. Theyre rude af. Disorganized af. Not worth the time or money. Ive had nothing but problems from them

2022-05-25I called to see if they took walk-ins because I have an abscess tooth, right? First and foremost, if you’re gonna answer the phone, be professional! Don’t get an attitude with someone because we (the patient/customer) needs information. And when I was about to ask another question, I hear a grunt and get hung up on. Idk who that person was, but they need some manners. This ain’t the job for you if you’re gonna cop an attitude, sweetie

2022-03-23I’ve been coming here for years and I have NEVER waited less than 45 minutes to get into my appointment. It seems to be a fundamental practice within their business because they have no interest in resolving the issue. In my opinion, they don’t try to change it because a lot of their patients are on welfare and this is one of the main dentists in the area that take Medicaid. It’s ridiculous. No regard for people who have to pay a babysitter or have to miss an entire day of work just to come in for a cleaning.

2022-07-09Ive been going here for years. The Dr.s the staff are some of the friendliest people Ive ever met. Honestly, the best experience at a dentist office Ive ever had.

2022-05-16I would definitely not recommend. Called to ask a few questions about a receding gum line and the lady on the phone was snobby and only recommended a type of toothpaste. People like me who cant afford insurance have to suffer because of dentist offices like this one. Horrible experience just over the phone smh

2022-04-29Do they ever answer the phone? Ive called the past 2 days to reschedule an appointment I had to cancel due to work. Ive left a message 2 different times and have not gotten a call back. Last time I was there there was 4 ladys sitting at the front desk, youre telling me none of them can answer the phone?
