Great coffee, very clean, light, modern vibe inside. People were super friendly and patient with me as I ordered. Kombucha and nitro cold brew were expensive at 4 dollars per 8 oz. Pour over is only 3 and is great! Milk is steamed perfectly! I will visit this shop again. Love it.
Simplicity is key here for all the attention is poured into roasting and serving single-origin, top-grade coffee to perfection. The owner and the staff are obsessed with serving the perfect cup. Ive literally seen them throw away anything they werent satisfied with, even though the customer may never know the difference. I love the mail order subscription of freshly roasted beans I receive each month in the mail. I even brought a friend traveling from Brazil to the shop and he declared this the best cup of espresso hes yet had in the U.S. (and hes been all over). Cant recommend this place enough. Its a gem in the region, not just the city.
Hands down the best coffee shop in all of Akron. I absolutely love their cold pourovers of Ethiopian blend coffee with a dash of almond milk (home made almond milk, by the way). Different selections of coffee for the pourovers from day to day also, which keeps it interesting. A great way to start your day! Plus if youre looking for a bite to eat in the a.m., check out their specialty toasts or the granola.
GLORIOUS two cups of coffee today from Albert!Visiting Goodyear from Detroit, drove past 17 Starbucks from hotel IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION to find My People, and boy oh boy did I! The Papau New Guinea was a revelation, and the Honduran changed my life. NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!
Almost painfully trendy set up. Nice clean lines, though, and it is refreshing to have an uncluttered space, although it feels a little unwelcoming. I got a macchiato, which came in a tiny cup. That was a surprise! It packs a real punch and smells lovely. Full flavour but bitter. I think I have been spoiled by my usual coffee shop; they also roast on site but have a much smoother flavour.Likely wont revisit unless Im in the area. Willing to admit I might not have a sophisticated enough palate for this place based on the rave reviews. I recommend checking them out, even if I cant gush about them. They are worth a visit and I do think local stores deserve our business. Barista was friendly and genuine.
Were on a road trip so this spot was heavenly after a week of hotel lobby coffee. It is a clean and bright space with a good amount of seating (which is still closed for now). They have a simple menu and dont waste espresso shots with endless sizes and customizations. I would come to Akron again for this place.
This was a really simple local coffee shop. The small space is clean and bright and they had some tasteful artwork from a local artist up. I got an ice coffee and they made a pour-over on the spot. It looks like they have some classes/cuppings scheduled and little events like that can be fun to stop by. Their menu is focused, not overwhelming, and they have a couple nice pastries for sale as well. Best third-wave coffee place Ive found in the area so far
Their chocolate ice cream affogato is delicious! Its a very small space and I didnt feel comfortable having an intense conversation with my friend because I felt like everyone could hear every word, but a very nice atmosphere for a casual cup of coffee with friends. I recommend it.
My first visit was at the Front St. spot. Incredibly clean, spacious and everything is displayed meticulously. So, I indulged... 2 bags of coffee, hoodie, pour-over and cold brew to go.The service is phenomenal. All my questions were answered. The female employee was very knowledgable and makes THE BEST pour-over I’ve had in a shop. Perfect grind. Perfect ratio. The decaf beans are easily the best I’ve had. Most would have no idea they’re sipping on decaf. Very flavorful! The Rwanda is a nice step into a different flavor from Ethiopian varieties. Sweet and fruity, but a great mild spicey-ness on the tongue. Insane mouthfeel. The hoodies are very soft and the logo on the breast is awesome! Very fair price, too.Get here soon. And don’t hesitate to buy bags.
BEST COFFEE and BEST COFFEE SHOP in Akron! Ive been waiting for a true coffee shop to come to Akron that knows how to make real espresso drinks and this is it. The atmosphere and staff are great and weve been making the drive across town for this fantastic place! They also offer an excellent coffee subscription service. Check out Akron Coffee Roasters - you wont be disappointed!
Very pleasant and modern looking location in downtown Akron. They roast there beans onsite and create there coffees within minutes. There baristas are polite and knowledgable. They will help you find a good brew for you or something that will fit your tastes. Definitely would recommend to anyone who enjoys a quality cup of coffee
My New Years resolution was to visit more coffee shops, and after reading the reviews I thought that this would be a great place to add to my list, boy was I wrong. Akron Coffee Roasters is not somewhere that you can go in and get work done, the uncomforting environment forces you to get a coffee to go. An OVERPRICED coffee to go. If you like coffee with no flavor, well you found your new perfect coffee shop. I am all for supporting local, but if I could ask for my money back I would love to. I paid $4 for the smallest coffee Ive ever received. If you want options, good luck!! The menu consists of about 5 overpriced small coffees. I stared at the menu hoping something else would appear but of course nothing else did. So I decided to get one of the limited menu items considering I had already driven 15 minutes to try this amazing coffee shop. You would think with a small, not busy shop you could get your coffee quick but then again you would be wrong. Overall this coffee shop experience was a waste of my time and my money.
Pass this place every day on my commute. a barista at another coffee place actually recommended this place to me 😂. said it was his favorite coffee. i finally went this morning. very pleasant and friendly barista! great service. got a black iced coffee and it has literally been on my mind all day since. almost went a second time on my way home. SO good.
My recommendation: go order the Honey Cortada. By far my favorite coffee to be had in Akron! However, all of their beverages are good, they roast quality beans in a small but aesthetically pleasing space right on High street. For anyone who works in downtown Akron, it is definitely worth the walk to get the best coffee around.
I ordered an excellent almond milk maple cortado. On top of that the almond milk is made in-house. I will definitely return here when in the area.If youre looking for a great coffee shop in Akron this spot is for you.Picked up a baratza encore here $10 cheaper then Amazon as an added bonus.
BOTTOM LINE : very good coffee, but the aesthetic and vibe is a bit stiff and cold to make this a cozy coffee shopPRO : great coffee, professional and kind staff, fun location with easy access to downtown (get an ice cream next door, after!)CON : prices are high, but not unjustified for the quality. not a con, more of an FYI
Chicken Gumbo was good. Husbands curried chicken salad also good. The curry was noticeable yet it did not overwhelm. After snacking our way thru the Westside Market this was perfect for lunch. Nothing fancy but very good, loud, filled with locals and tourists and people in town for business. I know this cause you could hear just about everything everyone was saying.
Even if Downtown Akron was buried in coffee joints (which it is not,) this shop would still be The Crema of the Crop. Akron Coffee Roasters offers a limited selection of coffee beverages, roasted in house and prepared to perfection. Food selections on the date of my visit were a trio of sliced artisan breads, toasted and topped in perfect harmony with the beverages. Shop was clean, pleasant and brightly lit , with plenty of on-street parking spaces immediately proximate to the shop. Got Coffee? If not, go here!
Smell that? Of course you dont....cuz you arent here. The smell of coffee is giving me the goosies. Dont be that person, get off your bum and come. Hey, I rhymed! Im a poet and I didnt even know it. I have had this in my short list for a while now. I was in Akron having dinner with the most amazing Yelper alive (Laurie) and we needed some coffee. STAT! This was the perfect chance to try this place.

2022-07-16The coffee is great, the space is lovely, the people are friendly, this place really delivers! Their small scale setup really provides those who brew at home with the freshest beans possible as I was able to get a bag of beans that was roasted the day prior to purchase! Really love this place, I was just passing through on my visit as I’m from Columbus, but I’ll definitely be stopping by again whenever I’m back in town!

2022-06-24The base espresso has a great flavor. The latte/cortado drinks they make complement the flavor rather than bury it in syrup. This is a coffee place which is about the coffee, rather than the coffee milkshake beverage. So far the best coffee Ive had in the Akron/Canton area.

2022-04-17Friendly staff and eager to engage and educate in coffee culture. Not pretentious at all. Coffee is freshly roasted and excellent. Have had several types of beans and a v60 pour over. All of excellent quality. Cant wait to come back!

2022-06-12Best locally roasted beans I’ve found. The staff is always friendly and don’t make me feel unwelcome unlike some other local coffee shop I’ve visited in Highland Square. The focus here is on the coffee with none of the fluff.

2022-06-19My drink was made with care. It was not rushed and I could tell how much the barista wanted it to be good quality and it was worth it. My iced matcha latte was the best matcha latte I’ve ever had. I only visited yesterday with my mom and we have already brought up going again multiple times.

2022-03-23I live closer to Cle and have not found a coffee shop I’m impressed with. Akron city roasters has changed that! Seriously the best maple cortado in all of NE Ohio!

2020-10-05They have a new 2nd location at 2105 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls.Best coffee shop in a 50 mile radius. They roast their own beans here. They make their own homemade almond milk here. The decaf is sugar processed not chemical. If you get a decaf cappuccino they pack it extra tight so it’s very flavorful. They carry a local bakeries pastries. That local bakery uses all natural local ingredients. The atmosphere is delightful the sun will shine in the windows in the early morning until about one or 2 PM. It’s a great place to study or do work. There is a small night light Cinema right next-door which has seating during the day also they share with the coffee shop and it’s very quiet. They allow dogs. It’s just a delightful place with wonderful people and great coffee and pastries can’t say enough about this place.A year later and this is still my favorite coffee shop.

2020-01-03Must Visit - Akron Coffee Roasters is brewing and roasting some seriously good coffee. Their espresso blend was delicious and is Spro Hoe Approved! Our cappuccinos were equally impressive. The service was attentive and friendly. This shop is small and might not be the best for work/study but provides space for couples to meet and enjoy some coffee.
