AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in other cities:
I was very pleased from the time I called to inquire about a quote for a repair to my truck to the complete execution of rendering quality service. They have become my new mechanic because of customer service and awesome work on my vehicle. Not to mention, they allowed me to use their facility to do work and answer calls. Kudos Dan and staff!
Avoid this business! We picked this repair shop based upon its Google rating, that was our mistake. Took our vehicle in on a Monday for what should have been a one day standard repair. It took 4 days to repair and their communication skills were terrible. On day 3 and 4, the shop had an employee answering the phone who claimed to be a corporate employee. On day 3 she quoted me a final hard price only to find out on day 4 that the price had been substantially increased without warning even though I talked to her three times on day 4 - not once did she mention the price increase/difference.
2005 FORD F-150. AAMCO Wilmington Pike is the greatest. Diagnosed my transmission problem and gave me a fair quote quickly. They gave me a loaner car while my truck was in the shop. Even got it done 2 days ahead of schedule. Great support for the military. My truck drives like new after 140,000 miles. I highly recommend these guys and will give them my business in the future.
Top Notch! Mark and Team evaluated my Tundra, Identified Electrical issues and repaired in no time. Toyota Dealer wanted 4 times what AAMCO charged to replace everything! These guys did the work to troubleshoot and only replaced what needed to be, saved me and my family a ton of money!!
AAMCO did a terrific job fixing my vehicle. We were on our way to PA from MN and having vehicle issues, we called this morning and they were able to get us in the same day! They were very quick, reasonably priced, polite, and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. We highly recommend using them for any vehicle repair. Thank you soo much!
I had to take my car back several times because it broke down after they tried to fix it. After about 6 weeks I have my car back, still not convinced the job was done correctly. I was told they may not honor my warranty on the CV shaft they put in if they couldnt fix it with the cheap ones they ordered (which they way overcharge for). They also ordered an incorrect part several times. After initially telling me what it would cost they also mentioned they would have to replace my flywheel, something they should have noticed the first time.If you want the job done right I would not recommend taking your car here. This is a transmission shop, they shouldnt have done this terrible of a job replacing my transmission.
Excellent Service! The staff always finds time to fit my vehicle in when I need their services. My car is always fixed in a timely manner and done right the first time. I have never had a problem with any repair done here. The price is fair and better than other buisnesses in town. I highly recommend taking your vehicle here as it is hard to find a trustworthy mechanic.
I had a pleasurable experience. The employees are very professional, they took me home and picked me up, once finished. I was very satisfied my car was fixed, without anymore problems and the fact I wasnt charged a and a leg. Thanks a mill AAMCO CREW in Kettering, especially CHUCK!
This place is one of the best , they got me in quick and made sure everything was put together perfectly. I had my transmission replaced and my o2 sensor went out right after, they helped me get the part and put it on free of charge . If you want genuine people working on your car this is the place to do it at . Honestly the best service I received .
Fantastic service, honest people. I had my oil changed here a few months back, after moving into a nearby neighborhood. When my check engine light came on recently, they were the obvious choice. Despite my authorizing up to two hours of diagnostic work, they were nice enough to fix what turned out to be a loose hose clamp at no charge. They even dropped my car off at my home, as I was out of town when the work was completed. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Ive been to AAMCO a few times now; with my previous vehicle and my current one. From an oil change, to new brakes and rotors, to a new fuel pump...I always get the best price and highest quality work. My car has run like new since I had it worked on about 6 months ago. I was able to save a lot of $money$ compared to other local mechanics as well! I feel the staff is very friendly, trustworthy, and straightforward to give you whats best for your car. Highly recommended!
Had a great experience last week at this AAMCO. Had to have car towed in (accidentally put oil instead of trans fluid in the transmission YIKES!) Got that taken care of professionally, but one other thing I wanted checked was not done. I didnt realize till I got car home so I called -- they had me come right back, fixed it on the spot. I expected to pay for the part, but was preparing to argue with them about not paying labor since they could have done it initially . But before I could even say anything, they comped the entire thing -- value of $70. Said it was on them and they make things right. That they did. Will come back and recommend to anyone. Nice to be able to trust a business.
Discovered them through a friend. They are professional and very prompt. They did what they said and at a fair price. I had them rebuild my transmission and it runs like new. Ive since used them for everything from an oil change to a water pump. Good to have an honest shop near by.
My Mini Cooper suddenly flashed its Engine Malfunction icon and I brought it to Aamco in Kettering. Dan was quite accommodating and fixed my car within LESS than 24 hours. They even provided courtesy rides to my home and from my place of work. They also called to follow up. Great customer service.
The turn signals on my 2004 LeSabre suddenly stopped working. We checked the fuses and even tried to replace a relay ourselves, to no avail. We took the car to AAMCO and let them try to figure it out. After a week of no answers, they finally realized that a rodent had gotten into the wiring and wreaked havoc. The car had to be completely rewired. I feared the worst. Would we be able to buy groceries after fixing this stupid old car?! I was pleasantly surprised by the final price. No one is going to starve this month. I highly recommend this shop.
I went there to have them check out my brakes and see what the cost would be to have a transmission service. I was very pleased with what it cost to have both services done. I truly felt like they were honest and not looking to rip me off. I will definitely use Aamco again for my car repairs and highly recommend anyone and everyone to go to the Kettering location if you need to have work done on your car.
I thought Id be without my car for days, but, they had it ready before I got off work; got a great deal on my brakes and shocks; Dan, the manager was wonderful, and set me up with 6 months same as cash; I wish this level of customer service was available in all my dealings with other establishments; thank you Kettering Aaamco, ill definitely be recommending you to all my family and friends!
Well first things first I own a 2009 nissan 370z, not a so common easy car to work on. We had a minor set back with ordering the wrong parts at first, so I went ahead and just ordered aftermarket performance parts for my car and had them do the install, within a day of having the right parts they managed to swap out my clutch and all other clutch parts, having the car back to me running great as ever. Since the parts were ordered wrong originally they allowed me to use their loaner car to get around and to work which was extremely helpful! I just want to say highly recommend and best pricing around, I originally went to brownies transmission and the manager couldnt even have the decency to call me back with price quotes and part availability like he promised to do. Recommend to stay away from brownies especially if there service is going to start off on the wrong foot. Once again this aamco will take care of you and make sure your satisfied before you leave. They have a Great all around staff!
Had $2000 worth of work done, for 2 weeks we dealt with chuck, we go pick up our jeep & chuck was no longer there & we ended up paying $350.00 more than our quote, I also have protect my car and they paid $600 of the bill. Ist time I have taken a vehicle there & most likely the last time. And I have 2 vehicles about to be 3. Cant recommend, but can not, not recommend. 1st time there, nothing to compare to
My experience with Aamco was quick, effecient and pleasant. Even offered a loaner vehicle so I could get to from where I needed to be while they were working on my car. They were organized and honest. I really appreciate everything you guys did so quickly. I will be using the business for future trips to the auto shop.
My experience with this company went well! I came in with an issue concerning my engine on my 2009 Chevy Traverse which was covered through my warranty. Although it was difficult getting warranty approved Dan did what he had to do to get it approved and done! I suggest if you have any issues with your vehicle to stop by and have Dan assist you. Thank you AAMCO
My daughter was traveling from Indiana to North Carolina when she had serious engine trouble. She had already stopped twice that day to get the problem fixed. Both times the problem was not fixed. Then she stopped at the AAMCO on Wilmington Pike. They got the care in and worked on it until it was Really Repaired. I am driving from Indiana to Dayton to have more repairs done because it is so hard to find an honest reliable auto repair shop! Thanks to All the Staff.
There isnt a better, more dependable, honest shop in the area. I have taken my car to this shop numerous times and have always been well satisfied and confident the work had been done and done to superior standards. In most cases it has been done the same day I bring it in. If you need a reputable mechanic, this is the place to go. I live in Englewood and drive to Kettering because the service is so excellent. Im telling you, its the place to go!!!!!
In a sentence, Great work done quickly. Had my front axle, ball joints, and hub bearings fail on me, they had everything diagnosed in less than a couple hours, and the whole truck fixed in less than two business days. Truck drives like new, even though it’s 20 years old. Understood I worked nightshift and always left appropriately detailed voicemails when they called with updates. Even offered me a ride home when I brought the truck in. Highly recommend this shop. Will be returning for future servicing, for sure.
OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!. I took them my GMC Envoy back at the end of October after I broke reverse gear(Needed a total rebuild). They had me back on the road the next day. Staff and service techs were super nice and did a great job.The loner car program is great saved me from having to take another day off from work. Had my car back now for 2 months runs great. Hopefully I never need this done again but if I do, no question I will be taking it back to themThanks AAMCO!!!.
First of all, dont trust the positive reviews on here. Second, the Aamco on Troy Pike in Huber Heights will only charge you a fraction of the price compared to this shop. I was quoted $205 for their Power Purge (flush) service. After dropping my vehicle off, I double checked the price I was given, and to my surprise, the other Aamco locations only charged $129 for the same exact service!! I also bought a new pan and filter, which they charged my an additonal $85 for, whereas the other shops only charge $40. The owner/manager (Dan) there is a total sleazeball and charged me double what the other shops would have. I feel totally ripped off. Also, on both of my visits to drop off and pickup my vehicle, others customers were complaining and arguing with the manager over the service they received. Follow your instincts and RUN when you set foot in their congested parking lot of 6 spaces and save yourself from being scammed!!
I had the absolute best experience coming to AAMCO Transmission in Kettering this week, so great that I wanted to share my experience with everyone right away! I had taken my car to another car repair shop for my check engine light and some other issues I was having. After receiving the quote from the other place, my friend encouraged me to take my car to AAMCO in Kettering to be checked out. Not only were the AAMCO men professional and polite... they were completely HONEST and saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs. My car is running great now thanks to the knowledgeable men at AAMCO! Thank you again AAMCO Transmissions in Kettering, there is no doubt in my mind that you will always have my business and I would highly recommend it to anyone else!!
I took my car here for service, not only were they extremely knowledgeable and polite, I was given a fair price and timely service. Im always afraid to go to a shop since Im a female, but these guys are very competitively priced, I checked around afterwards. The manager there, Jerry, explained to me very thoroughly what was wrong, how long it would take and what he recommended. I have since taken my daughters car there for service as well and would highly recommend them to anyone! Thanks Aamco, Kettering
The guys at AAMCO really came through for me! I was passing through and got stranded on I 75 the had my car towed, and repaired really quickly and I was able to continue my trip to northeast Ohio they got me back on the road in only 2 days I think that is amazing that they could rebuild my transmission so fast and its as good as new! And the price was less than I was expecting! Thanks AAMCO
Truly exceptional service. I brought a used Ford Escape to them which had a vibration problem in the powertrain that two other shops had been unable to eliminate. They quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem and skillfully navigated a complicated and time consuming repair. Their persistence in working the problem all the way to a successful end result went far beyond what most repair shops would be willing to do. Highly recommended.
I took my F250 Super Duty in to get an oil change a couple months back, left to go to Costco with the wife, and by the time I got back I found out the oil hadnt been changed. This wasnt a problem at all. Turns the owner had trouble getting ahold of me on my cell phone while I was gone to tell me he doesnt normally do oil changes for diesels, and he wouldnt be able to complete the job at a competitive rate. So he actually took the time to call around town for me and found a shop thatd change the oil for half of what hed have to charge to do the job. While I didnt end up getting my truck worked on here and I cant really comment on their quality of work, I can definitely say that this is an honest shop, and Id happily take my wifes car here for any future service.
I called into their store and talked to Dan on the phone. I few questions about the motor and transmission in my truck. He was very knowledgeable with all of my questions that I had. It was the easiest conversation i have had with an automotive store. Super polite and very thorough with me. I would defiantly send anyone to him and his store.
Great service today. I went in with a rubbing sound when i applied my brakes that started this morning on my way to work.they took me right in and showed me that i had no brakes left and even found a dangerous tie rod which was a safety issue for my family. They had my car ready at lunch time as promised.Dan and Robert were great and made me feel comfortable that they cared about me as a customer as i was a bit nsrvous at first being a single mom. I am a customer for life . Thanks Aamco.
At a time when good customer service and honorable people are in short supply, thank goodness for Chuck and his team. He repaired my 2004 Honda Civic transmission problem and honored his warranty when an issue popped up again later. I would definitely recommend these folks to anyone. Thanks Chuck!
These guys are awesome. I was having problems with my 4x4 manual Toyota FJ Cruisers transmission and took it here to AAMCO. They gave me a completely honest bias free opinion of what needed to be done and what to expect. They do great work and back their work 100% and stand by their warranty, which you will probably never use. My car is a beast and after having them rebuild a piece of the tranny and replace the clutch she is running better now with 120,xxx miles then she did when I bought it with 75,xxx miles. I would reccomend these guys to anyone. Great work, Great Service, Great Results. They do more than what you pay for. Not only did they do all the work I asked them to do they gave my car a full lookover as well for free. And the best part they saved me over $2000 from what the dealership wanted to charge me for just the transmission. If you need work done to your care, bring it here. Jerry will take care of you!!!
My daughter was getting ready to go to college and we brought her car in for an inspection. Ron and Jerry made a list of things that needed atttention, and helped me prioritize what needed to be done immediately and what I could wait to do later. They recommended I get done only what needed done. She has driven the car for a year now with no problems. I recommend them to friends when asked. Awesome job.
Excellent experience overall. Brought my car in right before they closed on Friday night, and they had the problem diagnosed and repaired by noon on Saturday. They went above and beyond expectations! Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and knowledgeable, as well. They have earned a loyal customer.
I chose aamco because of there great reviews and have never been disappointed till just recently my wife had two tires replaced on her Honda cross tour. Well unfortunately two days later one of the tires needed air and this continued to happen every other dat. With me and my wife working full time we did not get the car back to aamco for 3 week. Most place would have assumed that the leak was due to something that happened after the tires where put on because we waited so longe to take it back but they fixed the valve steam free of charge best shop in Dayton by fare!!!
Spent 4 hours at the shop and had a wonderful time listening to Employee Axle describe over the phone how he upselled a few customers. Eventually when my car came out I had asked to speak with the technician instead of the upseller; Stevan- he was somewhat honest and stated that the whining noise was normal for these kinds of vehicles, however he thinks it is the Planet wearing out. He offered to rebuild it for 4k, howver the planetary whine might still be there. I took it to the dealer and had them run a full diagnostic, and they came back with the air compressor box being disconnected and had caused the whine, engine missfires, and other issues, nothing was wrong with the transmission and could have been an easy fix. This should have been caught by Aamco this really illustrates a lack of care, know how, and left a very bad taste regarding these folks’ honesty.
I was able to schedule a next-morning appointment to get my brakes checked out for grinding noises. They had it in, inspected, and done in time for me to be at work by 11, and even gave me a ride home and back to the shop while they did it. Ben was professional and friendly throughout the process. I definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.
Chuck, the current manager here, is the man. Along with his guys. They were super polite, timely and anything...I mean ANYTHING I asked, they were willing to explain. I am not completely ignorant to car mechanics so I have a general understanding due to lots of cars flopping on me. This car (my Jeep) needed a new engine. Thankfully it was covered by the warranty still. However, the warranty group was giving me grief and telling me one thing; Chuck another. The main thing is this: Chuck was HONEST with me. Up front. He even offered to go out of his way to help me get the documentation I needed for the warranty. I am absolutely amazed by the professionalism, friendliness and knowledge based mechanics here. Anything I needed, theyd answer. I dont think I will be going anywhere else.
Great shop. Very honest and helpful when trying to figure out our problem. We are out of town folks with vehicle problems on a Saturday and were able to get in and get answers. Hands down would recommend this shop. Worked with both Brad and the owner, both very friendly and helpful.
AAMCO in Kettering was able to get my car in the shop on the day that I called and they quickly identified the problem. As it was late in the day, my car wasnt going to be finished until the next morning. I shared my concern about getting to my job and they set me up with a loaner vehicle. I greatly appreciate the loaner, and will be a repeat customer.
I have great confidence in getting work done at AAMCO. My husband and I have been using them for a few years now, and each time, I feel that their work is done in a quick and timely manner, and that they explain all of our repair options (including those options that don’t necessarily require a lot of work). We will continue to trust AAMCO for years to come!
I have a jeep and I was having a problem with it ideling to low. I went to AAMCO, and they told me it was going to cost roughly $500 to replace my alternator, belt, and my battery. I thought that seemed a little high to me, so I took it to one other place, they checked it out, and all it needed was a good cleaning. So all I had to pay was $20. I personally will never go to AAMCO again, because of the fact that they wanted to take more of my money than was really necessary.
Reviews deceiving. Came here for air conditioning service. The first day, system checked, freon and die added, and asked to return in a week to check for leaks; charged $195. Returned 6 days later. Was told my condenser was bad, would cost an additional $800 to replace. I felt that the initial system check would have found a bad condenser. Theyre either totally incompetent of fraudulent.
Great experience. They diagnosed my problem quickly while I used the wifi in the waiting room. They gave me a ride home and they had the problem fixed the next day. Everything has been fine since. The price was as expected. The service was friendly and prompt. Thanks for the help.
I travel a lot for work so I often rely on online reviews to find the best products and services. Im glad I did after my experience at AAMCO. They really live up to their high rating. After experiencing issues with my A/C, AAMCO quickly diagnosed the problem that other service centers did not find. Then, they went out of their way to provide the permanent solution when I needed it. I strongly recommend this service location.
Today is the third time I have used their services. Twice before, I needed work. This time, it was a free inspection. All 3 times, they have been punctual. They did the needed work, and results of inspections without any pressure to do work that I can do myself.I trust them and recommend them to friends.
I brought my 04 Acura MDX that had transmission issue. It took them a few days to diagnosed the problem. They got it fixed and I was very happy with the result. It came out that it was an electrical problem.I went to the dealer before that and they told me I need a new transmission. Thank goodness I went to AAMCO.
I took my 1990 Town Car (original transmission) into Aamco Kettering assuming I needed a new transmission. They went and got the part needed to fix my car and I was out of there within an hour for under $100. The car now runs like new and I am very thankful for the excellent staff at Aamco Kettering and the great service they provided.
Was having 2004, Nissian Altima alternator issues. Basically, the alternator goes bad and the car wont accelerate, it will idel in drive. The owner, Bob Brown, came to my home to jumped my car. He even followed ne ALL the way to his AAMCO service station.(I got there at 5mph). My alternator, they put in last August, was covered under a manufacturing warranty. The owner, just returned my car not 10 minutes ago, knocked on my door and gave me my key back. Bob told me he put in a new alternator, NO CHARGE. Is this real life? This all happened within 2 hours. I know have a life long mechanic. Go see Bob at AAMCO, you wont regret it.
Screw this place, completely wasted my time and gas!!! Brought my jeep in on friday (with a half tank of gas) right when they opened for them to do a diagnostic check, which i dont understand how it takes half a day to do, called them back around noon and they said they needed more time to figure out whats going on, so they keep my car till monday, called and asked if they had an update which they didnt, said they needed more time, told them i needed my car back for work, i get there and they say it needs a sensor. I get my jeep back and its covered in grease and mud and most importantly no gas in it, gas light was on and it barely made it to the gas station, so basically they needed more time with my jeep for joyrides. Also a transmission flush is cheaper at the dealer $199 out the door versus $265 plus tax, waste of my time Christmas time at that.
I took my 1998 jeep to an independent transmissions shop and was told I needed a rebuilt transmission which was going to cost $2200.00. I wanted another opinion so ! took my Jeep to the Aamco Kettering shop. They seviced the transmission and replaced two solenoids. The total bill was $160.00 and my Jeep works great!! Thank You Aamco Kettering!
I went into aamco with my 97 z71. it was going into limp mode, i get it there and they tell me i need to have the shift linkage replaced, which yes it did because my buddy broke it when i rebuilt the motor and pulled the trans out. and they said my prendal switch needed rewired, ok not a problem either, i did have to splice it. WELL they didnt even touch the prendal switch wiring, still have the same wire nuts i used on it, i even took them a new pig tail for it. So after that was done they started the diagnostics, they told me at first it was the 3-2 downshift solenoid, he said that WAS the problem then later in the conversation he said he wasnt sure if it would fix it, it was replaced yet the same problem, so they threw there hands up and yelled REBUILD, i wasnt having it so i took it to another tech and he disagreed. brought it home hooked it onto my scan tool and got a 3-2 downshift solonoid...hmmm well i also needed to get the truck timed so when i had it at the shop getting timed i had them also check for codes and they also had the same code. so im gonna wrap this up and let u take what u want from my experience, they dont realize they are trying to pull the covers over someones eyes that knows a thing or 2 in the automotive field, transmission are just something i havent got into yet

2022-04-06I purchased a 2001 Honda Civic for my teenager and shortly after we bought it, the transmission went out. We were not sure whether to replace the car or the transmission, so we when to AAMCO to get pricing. Brad was super helpful. It didnt feel like he was selling us one way or another, he simply explained the process, what he would do if we decided to rebuild, and what the warranty was. We decided to move forward with a new transmission. There were some issues and Brad kept us up to date the entire time. They were professional and explained everything. Fast forward 6 months, the car has an issue going into reverse. We took it back and Brad took care of it. He explained everything and was super helpful. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone!

2022-07-19I went to Brownies and was told it would be at least 7 to 10 day,I said no thank you and called AAMCO,talked to Brad the manager,he said 1 to 2 days without even knowing what the problem was,Brad looked over my truck, called me,told me what was wrong as far as he could tell. I left the truck he gave me a complimentary rode home, found another issue, notified me and exactly 2 days later and my truck is running like new....cant say enough about AAMCO and Brad and his crew. I was very pleased and will recommend them to anyone who needs not only transmission problems but they say they great on all kinds of mechanical issues. Top notch service.

2022-06-14The experience was pleasant and the technicians were very helpful and had knowledge of things that a lot of shops I went to previously didnt. Brad is a great guy and he knows his stuff. I recommend AAMCO Kettering 10/10.

2021-12-01Listen, yall. These AAMCO folks are great. They did a free diagnostic of my transmission, drove it around, and didnt charge me a thing, only to honestly tell me there was nothing wrong with it. Id never driven a CVT transmission and had been alarmed at the extra RPMs when changing gears, but they explained this is a normal behavior for that engine. It is truly so rare to find honest car shops who will not try to upsell you or find things wrong with your car. You just know when youre dealing with those snakes, you feel dirty all over. These AAMCO folks are nice and normal and above board. Ill be going back there.

2021-05-21We went to this place based solely on Google reviews to get our AC repaired two years ago. After dealing with constant delays through the process and finally getting our car back, we had AC for the summer. Next year, no AC. I call, we drop off, and Im again without my car for multiple days. They try to charge me at first for a regular recharge saying that its not due to anything they replaced, and I argue saying that theres no way we went through a full recharge in a year if there wasnt a leak. Ohio gets hot, but recharges arent annual things. Right before I went to get it for the recharge, they called and said there was a leak, and they just happened upon it. They claim they fixed it again, and I didnt end up having to pay, but was without my car for multiple days. Now, 3rd year in a row, I have no AC. At this point Im not even going to bother with the song and dance of getting it done again under their warranty, and Ill just go pay somebody else who will get it done correctly. I cant even get a hold of anybody over there to tell me exactly what they replaced, as their voicemail hasnt even been set up. Overall definitely doesnt feel like they are part of a larger chain.

2020-08-08Service was horrible and my bar isnt that high. Took a 2017 Jeep in for service because it wouldnt run. Initially diagnosed incorrectly, but hey nobody is perfect and not a problem here as it was later diagnosed as the transmission. Approx 4500 for CVT transmission replacement. It only took 5.5 weeks. I placed over a dozen calls in that time frame for updates since I was paying for a rental. They placed 3. I would at a minimum expected 1 call per week to update on status.. The cabin of my vehicle looked like a tornado hit. Every compartment had the contents dumped with nothing replaced. The reason given was they were looking for the tire lock key. I called corporate to complain and was met with a thank you. I will certainly not go back. In all fairness the new transmission runs fine but not worth the grief.

2019-12-01Cannot say enough good things about this place! Ive had a transmission rebuilt, a transfer case replaced, and currently have my stepsons car getting break and fuel lines replaced. They are a very professional shop. They let you know a estimated cost for the job and come in right about that or less than that. They are very customer oriented and make sure you know exactly what needs to be done and dont try to add extra work to jack up the bill. This definitely my go to shop when I need medical work done!
