Most of the staff in the automotive side have been there for some time. Front desk is knowledgeable and helpful. Mechanics are spot on with repair needs. I am a do it yourselfer, but these guys are Pros. I have used the shop many times for several vehicles. They are good.
I went in for an oil change. Upon completion they mention to me that my truck battery needed to replaced. I was shocked and disturbed from what I herd from the mechanic. I told them them that I just replace the battery in February 2020. They told me the terminal were dirty and should check the warranty and have it replace.As soon as I got home. I checked the battery. First off the the terminals were not dirty and in fact very clean as if it was brand new. Secondly I try to charge the battery only to find that the battery was completely charge. I am not sure if I can trust this place.
This AAA location has the friendliest staff! I was really surprised by how patient they were with my multiple questions. I needed to completely rearrange my travel plans, which I didnt even book with AAA, but they were so helpful and pragmatic in thinking through various ideas with me. I would use this location over and over again! 10 stars!
We cant praise enough this location and particularly its staff!! The manager, Tim Chatfield, is always very pleasant and helpful. He goes the extra mile to help us and is very thorough in explaining what needs to be done and why. The pricing is always very fair. Also, the employees here are likewise very friendly and helpful! A special shout out to Leo! He is so helpful, willing to take the time to explain what needs to be done, and just so pleasant!! Always nice to see him and Tim! For these reasons, we will always take our vehicles to this shop and recommend it to friends and family!!!
So this has nothing to do with a towing service but everything to do with personality! My boyfriend and I were unloading a dryer and Josh drove by in his AAA truck TURNED AROUND and parked and asked if we need help carrying the dryer to its destination!! I’m not sure which AAA company he works for but if he’s willing to help a stranger with a dryer he’s willing to go above and beyond for a customer with a towing issue.I hope this gets to josh! Thank you!
My car died and I my regular mechanic was backed up, so I decided to give AAA a try on auto repair. I had the car towed in and received a call within a few hours with an estimate. The estimate seemed high, so I called around. It turned out they were on the higher end, but when I called back to the manager he explained why (it turns out it was the fuel pump that had gone bad and they only replace the entire module and not just the pump, in addition they replace the fuel filter, which my other estimates did not include). They were very pleasant and provided excellent customer service (which unfortunately seems to be a rarity these days).
Ive had work done at two different AAA locations in the area (Reynoldsburg and Grandview) and have always been pleased with how I was treated and how the technicians walked me through problems. I always thought this was a company-wide standard and felt positive about my experiences. However, at this location I was initially told that a battery would need to be replaced before they could further determine if my ignition was a problem. Im aware that Ive had issues with my battery and ignition switch for quite awhile so this came as no surprise. Ive had my oil changed at another auto place who kindly let me know about the ignition issue and asked how to get my car started. Once Tim, the manager at AAA, informed via phone about the issues, I tried to ask if another battery could be tested and I could walk him through starting my car since it tends to be tricky (but not complicated). My plan is to eventually get the ignition switch replaced for the second time, but I wanted to see if it worked for the time being. I was told in a sarcastic tone that they shouldnt have problems with starting it and that it needed to be replaced. I understand that this is a business and theyre trying to make money, but if the customer is trying to suggest a solution to the issue at hand, please listen. I was willing to get it repaired, but at a later date. Unfortunately, I wont be back. Also, I read one post that said that if you are a woman, theres a chance you might be taken advantage of (as I still had to pay over $100 for just the diagnostic that told me already what I knew) and to not bring your car here. I have to agree since my suggestions werent being considered.
Recently took my car here after AAA gave me a significantly lower quote than a competitor for work that the other shop insisted needed to be done.Tim, the assistant manager, was great to work with and extremely informative.After about an hour the shop gave me a call to let me know that the work the competitor told me I needed wasnt necessary at all, and was a very minor fix.So I ended up saving about $1,500 because this shop and its technicians are honest. This is now my go-to shop for anything mechanic related.
I had to get a document notarized and thought it would take about 5 minutes. I purposely waited until after lunch to get the AAA office. When I got there, the gentleman that asked to help me told me the notary was in a meeting and had been for about a half hour and said it shouldnt be too much longer. Well, after waiting for about an hour, the notary was able to help me on a 1 minute notarized document. I guess next time I will call ahead which I wouldnt think I would have to do.
Always amazing service.I appreciate their approach in their service practices and they answer all of my questions. And I have a lot of questions. Always because thats just who I am. They are extremely patient.. They give great advice and have extremely skilled technicians. Quite frankly some of the best techs Ive seen in the past several years of having service done on my vehicles.
Joel felt there was a problem in my cars cooling system caused by some air in the system. This was causing a gurgling sound when running the engine. Joel did everything from vacuuming the cooling system to replacing all the coolant; but, the sound still persisted. He didnt charge me anything despite all the work. How honorable for Joel and he AAA team to not charge me! It is great to work with these men.
Thanks so much for your outstanding assistance. I have noticed that there has been a significant reduction in the amount of printed material available. I understand that, as the cost of printed media becomes greater , and less available in our electronic world- I was SO DELIGHTED to have this agency order maps that arrived in my home in time for my flight and car rental. Thanks so much! You folks are just great. Sometimes where we travel is off the electronic maps- so its wonderful to go back to the paper! Thanks again.
I have taken my car here a few times and had great service. How ever I had a schedule d oil change and wiper replacement. It took them an hour and a half. I sat there and watched there mechanics dick around for a while then I complained to the a rep there and then it took them 45 more minutes to finish.. by then I complained more and got the oil change for free..id like to add. There were 3 mechanics in the garage and only one other car..make your own decision but I will never get my oil changed there again
We love going to this AAA location. Everyone there is friendly and eager to help us out. Whether its a road trip or simply getting answers to airplane flight questions everyone seems ready to help out. Id not flown for a very long time and saying I was anxious was to put it mildly. Cristin was fabulous in answering my questions and putting me at ease. She kept an email line of communication open with me that was greatly appreciated. We will continue to visit this AAA to collect information and try to make our getaways and dreams a reality.
My husband called in and spoke with Ray and expressed a concern he was having with his front tires on his Mustang rubbing. The previous owners put the wrong tires on the front. We made an appointment and upon his inspection while putting new tires on the front Ray and his mechanic (wish we would have caught his name) found numerous areas of concern on the passenger side front wheel attachments which they took us back to show us. They addressed the issue on the spot and potentially saved us from a severe wreck in the near future! Thank you Ray and your knowledgeable staff!!! Honesty seems to be very important to them!! This is just another reason why we will continue to bring our cars to AAA Car Care in New Albany!!
I needed to transfer my membership from Iowa to Ohio. All the representatives were busy. They receptionist looked over my paperwork and started the ball rolling. By the time someone was free, I knew what plan I wanted, how much it was going to cost, I had info on the credit card and extra insurance. I was in and out quickly.I also learned how the office was setup. This was setup different than Iowa. Members can come in and grab books and info. But, the need to see the receptionist on the way out to make sure the inventory gets updated.I also saw the map on the wall that tells you how far you can travel in 1,2, 3...etc from Columbus. It gave me a good idea of the places that I can visit.I plan to go back there! Great service.
Unfortunately there is no site for AAA Columbus. We joined AAA after a huge towing bill was essentially uncovered by Liberty Mutual. A lot of past AAA services like trip tyke are dated. One still likes a good map. Yelp and Google have replaced the books and merchandise is overpriced compared to Amazon. But if you need a start or a tow, AAA is ok. But, our new insurance, Nationwide, provides road service and tows for both of us, for all cars at less than half the price of a SINGLE AAA membership. Reason for one star... when our membership expired, we called them several times to cancel. Frankly, I thought a single call would be sufficient but they kept calling and calling and calling, on their time not my time. In less than a month we got 15 calls. Even blocking them, it still went to voice mail. Asking for a supervisor does no good because there are two call centers handling membership. Argggh...finally took names and threatened them with Attorney General if calls continued. My advice, check for coverage with your auto insurance, better, cheaper. AAA harasses people that opt not to renew, at all hours of the day/night. I will never ever join again. Havent had a call in a week, a miracle!
This is the worst possible place to take your car. 2 years ago it took them more than a full business day to replace a battery, just to find out they needed to replace the starter too. Now, the battery is toast. Its covered under a warranty but they no longer carry the garbage they gave me, so instead of go ing me what they DO have they make a 9 year member come back after theyve ordered it. Will they also pay for my rental? Nope. Will they charge you more for labor than anyone else, sell you crappy parts with questionable expertise, just to make you run around town so they dont have to inconvenience themselves? Yes.
My wife had them look at her car and was told she needed her brakes replaced in one single wheel well. They quoted her $991 to fix the problem.... which is strange because the parts only cost $250 and it should take a garage 1 hour of labor. Assuming labor cost is $125/hour I still can’t tell where the extra $600 cost comes from?It seems like they were talking to a woman and wanted to take advantage of her. If you are a woman, love a woman, or just generally care that people aren’t taken advantage or cheated don’t go to this garage.Needless to say we took it elsewhere. Best part is the place we took it is replacing the brake system in BOTH front wheel wells for $500.... hmmmmStep up ya game AAA!!
The people who helped me are always first rate. If it was just about that, then I give the workers an A+. However, this New Albany branch no longer carries supplies, like waterproof wallet holders and any gadgets forVacation. I give the executive(s) who made this decision to take them away from the new place a complete (F-). Way to go executives turning an A+ perfect thing and changing it. I hope you actually read this. Please listento your employees and clients. I give them 2 stars with the potential to get 5 stars
I got my car checked at AAA.They told me that it was a battery issue and replaced my batttery.They also charged me 120$ for diagnosing the issue in addition to the battery cost.On top of that they were asking me 1000$ for ignition coils,spark plugs and gasket, which i didnt pay.When i got it checked by a local mechanic,he diagnosed the problem ,which was no oil in the fuel pump.I dont trust AAA now as i feel i have been lied to.Please dont go there.Pathetic service,poor technicians,overpriced.Save your dollars,avoid this store!!!

2022-06-10Came in 50 mins before they closed to get my tire plugged and put back on Monday, 6/6. I asked them only if they had time to do it. The guy at the counter quickly asked and the answer was yes. It was done within maybe 20 minutes. I even noticed that they had other cars in the garage when I pulled up so it was very nice of them to do it for me when I came in that late in the day. I typically work the entire time that tire shops are open so I was very happy to get this done. Thank you!

2022-05-18Visited this AAA Repair Shop earlier this month. The shop is a great little place...the staff was both friendly & helpful. I called & spoke with Arnold who helped me purchase wiper blades using my (BOGO) coupon from my AAA magazine. Arnold was GREAT❗I definitely would recommend this Store to anyone looking for auto repairs/parts.

2022-01-03Very helpful, but sad to hear they are doing away with their travel guide books and maps. Lucky for us they still had some in back which they retrieved for us and our cross country trip. Even though we have GPS, we like to have the guides for suggestions. for accommodations and places to see. Love having a real map in hand.

He answered all of my questions and made special accomodations to ensure my car was ready in time for me to get to the airport to pick up my mom. 2020-12-20Friendly staff. Great customer service that went above and beyond to do research to clarify information about a Consulates document requirements. Great perk for AAA members is free notary service! Will go there in the future whenever I need anything notarized.
