The cafe is a hidden treasure. The chef is amazing. The garden center is overpriced. The owners, Bob and Chris, absentee owners who frequently are in Europe. On the rare occasion that they are present, they have been observed chastising their incredible chef.
I adore this place. We stop in every time we are in the area. A beautiful selection of flowers, garden accessories and home decor.

What a delightful place this is! A wonderful selection of flowers with a knowledgeable staff to guide you. Surprisingly, lots of other tasteful items for home decorating too. I love it!
This is my 2nd year using this nursery for my porch. I cant say enough about the quality of their plants and flowers. It costs more than your usual place, but is well worth the price!! Atmosphere is amazing and always friendly service!
We found A Proper Garden by accident and absolutely loved it! We found the exact plants we were looking for with the expertise and help of their staff and had the most delicious Quiche breakfast and special herb and honey iced coffee prepared by their chef. This place exudes total pride of what they represent and the little shopping area is really unique.
I finally found the Proven Winners Berried Treasure strawberries. They had lots of beautiful perennials and their gift shop has the cutest stuff in it.
Clean facility and eager to help staff. Good selection.There was a significant delay in getting a special order tree (10 weeks) but Bob (the owner) made it up by agreeing to deliver the tree to our home and also plant it. I appreciate it.
Customer service is lacking. My wife did not receive a call back for over a week only to be told they could not fulfill our order in time that was placed 2 weeks ago.

Lots of cute stuff in here! Whoever decorates the place, they are on point! Everything is laid out so beautifully. I will say though, they are outrageously priced. Im not sure I could find anything under $20 in there.
The little French cafe is a treat! Very cozy spot for a cup of tea, a sweet and some light shopping. Lovely household items and beautiful garden supply.
It was a beautiful place flowers were really nice and priced well but when I walked inside there was four people standing around and not one person spoke to me or ask me if I needed help absolutely nothing!!

Was happy they had the type of flower I was looking for however purchased late in June and was surprised how expensive they were for end of June.

2022-05-08We had lunch here for Mother’s Day and it was amazing. The quiche was terrific and the dessert was out of this world. The chef makes you feel like you’ve been friends with him for years. Do yourself a favor and stop for brunch or lunch. Very fairly priced for the food and experience. You won’t regret it!

2022-07-16Very disappointed. Took a friend here for her Birthday and it was a Big Fail. Hardly any plants, fountains not even running. Had reservation at Cafe and horrible food. The quiche was a 3 bite size of over done burnt egg and brussel sprouts in a little cup floating in sauce $14.00‼️ My Friends sandwich was all bread with a hint of ham & cheese. She did say the little side of salad was good, also $14.00. Dont waste your time or $. Its a store of overpriced Makenzie Child items.

2022-04-08Very pricey! Dont buy anything you cant walk out with! My wife and I bought a fiddle leaf fig tree, pot, and paid for potting and delivery. Ive called twice and have been promised a call back with the delivery information. Bottom line, the customer service is terrible!

2020-01-20My daughter & I just left this wonderful place & couldn’t stop talking about it! A Proper Garden is a wonderful feast for the eyes, stomach & soul. We’re in love. Our chef, Jeff made us feel so special as he explained, cooked & served up some awesome homemade deliciousness. We had a delicious grilled cheese, breakfast sandwich, salad, soup & refreshing steeped & iced mango peach tea! While he cooked our meal we wandered around the store discovering many unique decorative items. Then we walked into the atrium & saw many beautiful plants & succulents. A lot of them, we’ve never seen before & they looked so healthy. After thanking the friendly staff we left with some fresh pastries and a new tradition.

2022-06-20The cafe is a hidden gem that apparently prefers to remain hidden. Seats no more than a dozen diners in VERY close quarters. This leaves little to no space for anyone without a reservation.With a dysfunctional website, defunct Facebook page (last post from 2020), and phone message that offered only the cafe hours, my party of two was unprepared for the estimated 30+ minute wait for a table. We drove half an hour and were too hungry to wait, especially as the cafe seemed to be staffed only by one chef filling all roles. :-(We chose to visit nearby Local Roots instead (good but ask them to hold the salt), so this rating is no reflection on the quality of the cafe, which remains unknown to us, rather on the terrible lack of information to prepare visitors for the extremely limited capacity of the cafe and need for a reservation. Folks there were kind and explained they dont advertise to avoid attracting too many customers!I heard the menu changes frequently to take advantage of seasonal ingredients; here are pics of the menu as of 6-20-2022.Fare thee well!

2021-12-28We stopped here on our way home from the zoo. I had never really noticed it so I’m glad that we needed some plants when we were in the area. It is so cute inside. The shop looked beautiful with all of the Christmas decorations on display. We bought some plants for a vivarium that we are building. Brandon got called up to answer our questions about the air plants that we purchased and was able to give us some tips on our bioactive enclosure. Excellent service.
