Fun hotel with a vibrant contemporary museum. Rooms were nice sided and the location is central to downtown attractions and across the River.Only downside is parking , but that’s to be expected when staying downtown. We just used their valet. We were in town for business but would definitely stay again.
This is my 2nd time staying at the 21c and it surely didn’t disappoint. The only issue we had was valet had curbed one of our wheels but they are the ones who brought it to our attention and that was a great thing to see. They owned it and have agreed to fix it so I will most certainly give them our repeat business.
Great art curators and displays.Rooms were updated and very clean.Staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to talk to.Valet for parking is nearly a must as street parking proves to be very difficult.Water pressure was sooo good.(Big selling point for me)Id fully stay here again next time in the area.
Lovely experience ❤️ The collection of art is an incredible mixture of stunning tapestries, sculpture, audio visuals, paintings and photography. Blew me away when I discovered not 1 but TWO Kehinde Wiley paintings. One of which greets you as you check in🤯 Definitely worth the visit.
The style of the hotel is very fun and the restaurant food, service and environment are top notch. I had to give a 2 star review because we had a bad experience at check in. They had one person working reception at 4:00 pm on a Friday. It was hectic and there were other staff standing around not helping. Our original room also had the shower handle break off when we first tried it, and the next room they put us in was missing furniture. I don’t have a huge problem with all of this, but the most disappointing part was I wrote to the management about our experience, and six days later they have yet to respond. I mentioned it to a supervisor at checkout and he recommended I post online about it, but still did nothing about it. Just not great customer service in responding to problems (which I know is a regular part of the hospitality industry).
This was our first time staying at one of the 21c Museum Hotel chains and we were unfortunately quite disappointed with the service from the manager that we received. As a breast feeding mother I requested a fridge to keep my daughter’s milk fresh as there are no fridges in the rooms. The first staff member we talked to informed us that there was only one fridge left because there was a wedding party at the hotel who was using all of the fridges. She was kind and stated she would call the hotel engineer to try to reserve that fridge for us. A few hours later when we returned, we spoke to the manager about the fridge. He flatly informed us there were no refrigerators available and that the alcohol the wedding party may be storing was of the same value as our breast milk. His only option was to store the milk in the hotel staff fridge. When we declined that offer he told us to go across the street to cvs to buy a cooler with ice. He was unkind, borderline rude and compassionless to our significant problem. It is unlikely we will be staying at this hotel again and I would urge others in need of a fridge for a similar reason or another medical reason to reconsider your stay as it was obvious that a group using fridges for extracurriculars took precedence over guests with a true need.
It was our first time staying here and we are so happy and cannot wait to come back! The valet and check in process were easy peasy. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the museum on the 1st and 2nd floor. We also liked how close it was to our favorite restaurants downtown. We did have an issue in our original room but David was quick to get that resolved. We are so appreciative of him. We will be back!
We have a fantastic experience! We visited for a concert and stayed 2 nights. The hotel rooms are quiet, thoughtfully appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. The staff was always friendly and helpful beyond expectations, even when I lost my 3rd key.Make sure that you spend some time in the galleries on the second floor. It can be accessed 24 hours a day, so it is fantastic for insomnia. It is wonderful to sit and look at a piece of art long enough to see details. We highly recommend visiting.
Positive: Location was fantastic. Art gallery was unique. Negative: This was not a 4 1/2 star hotel. The amenities were just okay. The minibar was unplugged and there was a note that a fridge would be provided if one was available. Our shower design sent water all over the bathroom floor. I had to request a bath mat.
This I believe would be classified as a boutique hotel but it is much more. I prefer places that are not overwhelming ... or more simply stated, that dont have too much going on like the larger convention hotels. But that said, I was shocked and impressed by how much this hotel had going on without becoming a distraction ... especially being located in the center of the city. Not only does if offer a full compliment of services, they have incorporated an art museum throughout that provides an additional amenity one would not expect to find. Further, the staff was most attentive and the room I stayed in was immaculate. I really dug the tiles in the shower!
I loved the concept of this hotel! Everything about my stay was excellent. The first person to welcome me was the valet attendant, Sean, and we hit it off because we have the same name and spelling! He, the front desk staff, and even the few housekeeping staff I encountered were especially kind and courteous. My room was very comfortable, quiet, spacious, and modern looking. The artistic tiles in the bathroom were cool too! Everything in downtown Cincinnati was within walking distance and made for a great stay. The food at the restaurant and room service was great too. The waiters, the food delivery staff, the valets, and everyone else made my stay very pleasant. Add on to all that the neat art exhibits downstairs that I could peruse at my leisure. The icing on the cake was the open and inclusive atmosphere as evidenced by their decorations still up for pride month. I would truly recommend the 21c Museum Hotel to anyone looking for a unique experience in Cincinnati!
Please do not stay here.. This is not a 4 star hotel by any means. Read reviews from the last 2 years… By the looks of it they’ve really went down hill. Rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. Close to no amenities whatsoever. No room service. Hotel restaurant/bar was closed. Valet took 25 minutes to retrieve our vehicle and brought it back scratched. Unprofessional front desk. Reading past reviews Juan will respond to this review with a bunch of arrogant excuses.. So let me save you the trouble. Don’t stay at this hotel.
Positive: Room and restaurant are both excellent. Negative: Valet is horrendous. No information in the room or on the valet ticket on how to call the valet, so you have to hand the ticket to a guy outside. 20+ minute wait times, and bunch of unhappy people standing around waiting. Ended the stay on a down note.
Ive stayed twice now at 21c. This stay was because my wife and I were downtown for a show at the Aronoff. Its impossible to beat the location with the hotel being across the street. Also, its only a minute walk to some fantastic restaurants. The staff at 21c were very kind, our room was quite and most importantly clean. We had a great experience and we will be back to stay next time we are in downtown Cincinnati.
Positive: Hotel room was quiet and comfortable. It stayed dark in the morning which was helpful for sleeping in. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Nice amenities. Negative: Missed not having breakfast available especially on the day we checked out and were too rushed to go out for breakfast. A mirror in the bedroom would be nice for getting ready when the bathroom is occupied. Wish the rooftop would have been open. Oh
21c is a staple in our hometown, visiting here for a novel experience. Not bad by any means, but for the money I was a little disappointed. Mattress was a different size than the bed frame, shower was luke warm with very little pressure, floor and furniture were a bit stained and worn. Walls were scuffed, everything just felt a bit tired. Service was wonderful, and staff were accommodating. In general a decent experience, just a bit underwhelming for the money
This place was beyond our expectations. The staff was friendly from the moment we arrived. We got there at 1230 and our room.was ready so we were able to check in early. They gave recommendations on restaurants and things to do nearby making our stay even more spectacular. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable!
Positive: The location is perfect and the artwork is really interesting. The rooms are very comfortable as well. It¿s a very unique stay. Negative: We asked for our room to be refreshed and we came back to find that there was still trash in our room. It was for our wedding night so it was very disappointing to come back to a messy room.
Positives: Staff were welcoming and helpful if we had questions. Museum was interesting. Precautions were taken in the midst of COVID-19. Coffee/espresso maker was good. Housekeeping was quick to fulfill requests.Negatives: Room was smaller than expected. For the price, my husband and I definitely expected more. They only have valet parking and it’s $38 a night, otherwise you have to find another option. One hand towel was covered in black makeup when unfolded, and another rag was covered in a hard substance. The soaps offered left a filmy residue on body/hands/hair. Rooms were fairly dusty. Breakfast was not included. These things would have been more acceptable had the whole experience not been so expensive. I will likely choose a more standard hotel that offers more for less if given the choice again.
This hotel is really unique! The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was excellent and very clean. I loved the art around the hotel and even in the room (the bathroom art had me laughing!). Great location as well: close to the Reds stadium, the downtown bar/restaurant scene, and more. I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance!
Really disappointing wedding night...I had booked a corner suite (most expensive room) well in advance of my wedding date in June 2021, and I let the hostess know that wed be checking in the night of our wedding, and that we were really looking forward to our stay.Fast forward a couple months...Show up to 21C on the night of our wedding (1am or so) and checked in.Firstly, I was shocked to find out that the corner suite / most expensive room in the hotel was located on the 3rd floor.... Which offered absolutely no view or natural light (bummer)Secondly, when we arrived up to our room, the toilet seat was off the toilet strewn across the bathroom floor (Why??? no clue...) So that took about 45 minutes to have someone come up and fix it.Not the end of the world... but one of those things you dont want to deal with when youre paying > $600/night for a hotel room.Lastly, and probably most disappointing, 21C did nothing to congratulate us on our wedding. No note in the room with strawberries or chocolates, no congratulatory bottle of champagne, no congrats you two! when we checked in... We picked 21c for the luxury, personalized experience, and it felt more like we were checking into a motel 6 with the level of service we received.Wont be staying here again, recommend you dont waste your money either. Try the Hyatt or Summit Hotel , both are better bang for your buck.- Hayden Klei
We visited this as part of a larger vacation, but we didnt stay here overnight. This hotel actually has a small collection of unique items, including its bathrooms. I would not suggest going out of your way, but if youre in Cincinnati and you have an hour to spare, Id stop by for the fun of it.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and event venue, staff was extremely professional, friendly, and attentive. I was at the hotel for a wedding, as a photographer, and could not be happier with the venue. The rooftop bar is incredible for nighttime photos, and the area is top notch. Shout out to our brilliant bartender, Mary, who kept everyones thirst at bay all night! The rooms are spacious, clean, and have terrific views. The artwork is just icing an already delicious cake.Highly recommend this hotel for events, especially if youre taking photos.
I would like to call out the amazing customer service that I received today from Henry at the front desk at 21C Cincinnati. He was very accommodating and understanding. The level of his customer service is enough to bring me back to visit, as well as suggest the hotel to colleagues and friends.
Stopped by to view the museum quality exhibit Dress Up Speak Up. I’m familiar with Bisa Butler’s quilting and the woven with bedazzled applications were very interesting as well as the inspiration for design. I noticed a guest having a private tour of the art, feel comfortable to walk in and view.
I couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice of hotel. The staff was amazing! Chuck the valet staff was my new best friend. Tell him don’t forget the Kings! All of the Front Desk attendants and all of the young men that brought our luggage up and down! They are what made the hotel! The art work was stunning in and outside of the hotel! This weekend I’m going to the 21c in Louisville, Kentucky just because of the amazing stay I had this past weekend! Thank you and I’ll see you all next year!
Positive: Staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly at all times. Negative: The rooftop bar was closed one night due to threatening weather....not their fault. But it was closed the next night also for a wedding reservation. I was really disappointed to not be able to use the rooftop area.
Ive stayed here probably 20 times in the last several years. Sometimes I book 3 rooms at a time for myself and my family. It has been my preferred place to stay in Cincinnati.Everytime I check in Im asked of it is my first time at the hotel lol.I was treated rudely over the phone by two different staff during my most recent stay. Its a five star hotel?Back to the Westin...
Best service I have ever experienced!! The staff helped us in many ways from recommending places to eat to refreshing our ice and clean glassware. The spa made me more relaxed than I have felt in years. The massage in the 21C spa had felt better than any other I have had before completely took out the pain in my back. Also this hotel is in walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping centers. If you are going to to Cincinnati I would highly suggest the 21C.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful, in a great location, and the staff is friendly and caring. In fact, due to poor planning, we became stranded across the bridge into Kentucky while visiting friends last year, and the hotel went above and beyond to help us to return safely to our room that night! Looking forward to our next stay.
Positive: Location, Art Galleries, Metropole restaurant Negative: Lots of Valet prob (way too expensive, considering the young men were parking the car around the corner in a $5 daily garage). Online website clearly EMPHASIZES the great rooftop deck / lounge, but was closed to guests - only corporate events.
Not that great the room was not what it was advertised to be at all. very small, no microwave, no bath tub. Only two flat pillows on a king bed and no mini bar as advertised. For the price of 600.00 for 3 nights the room was absolutely disappointing. 😕 A hot shower, the art and exceptional valet services were the best part of my stay.
This is our anniversary and they did nothing for it at all. This room is so f-ing tiny and I spent $317 for one night. There is no bath tub. The lights in the bathroom flicker to the point I’m gonna have a seizure. I hate that I spent this money on my wife for our anniversary. The moment I saw the room I immediately regretted getting a room here.
To say my stay at this hotel was AMAZING is an understatement. From the artistic decor to the welcoming staff I truly enjoyed every detail this property had to offer. I made my way through the gallery many times to capture much of the incredible art that is breathtaking. The night audit front desk representative (Ashley) and I had amazing conversation and she encouraged me to view every art piece, and even recommended where I could see more amazing art in the area. I truly enjoyed my stay! Thank You!
I had high hopes for such a nice hotel. I was only passing through for the night and was hoping to grab a drink and food before bed but was sad to say the bar closed at 10pm on a Friday night and I also couldn’t get a beer at the commissar after 11pm.I walked the museum and enjoyed the experience especially at late hours.Sadly I was underwhelmed with the room and felt I would’ve had way more for selecting the luxury room over a standard which still felt like it was below the bar of a chain hotel.Lack of pillows and the tv not being hooked up was the final straw and enough on top of everything else for me to be annoyed enough to voice frustration for a hotel I had excitement looking forward.Sadly I don’t think I’ll bring trying this one again.
When you travel for a living, hotels are a Blur. I find it difficult to differentiate between one city and another. Not the 21C in Cincy though. This hotel is utterly remarkable, perhaps because it is one of the strangest hotel expiernces in the country. Mixed with the standard Luxuries of a establishment of this calliber, you will find yourself immersed in a beautiful artistic landscape that spans from Serene to Bizarre. The art in and on the walls is well worth the time to contemplate. The 21c is hands down the most unusual hotel I stay in, but I wouldnt consider staying anywhere else when business brings me to Cincy.Stay here, its unlike anything else Ive found in America.
Its our first time staying. Having a great time so far. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and luxurious. Bathroom is amazing! I am missing having a microwave and fridge, though. Some lights were not working, but were fixed. Our package did come with a voucher for food st the attached restauraunt, but we werent able to use it all since we didnt know once we used it any left over money doesnt transfer. The restaurant pricing and food quality was kind of disappointing, but staff was still great. We cant wait to come back here.
I went to the rooftop bar for the first time the other night. It was great! The staff was inviting and friendly. The drinks were delicious, though the cans of beer were a bit over priced. Overall the atmosphere is great. Youre nestled in the city, surrounded by tall buildings and a few good angles of views.
Premium Price for a non-premium experience. It was not made clear just how much of the hotel is shut down due to Covid. We stayed one night but the Bar, Restraint, Spa, and Room service were all shut down completely. This came as quite a surprise. Further we booked a package deal that included rose peddle turn down which we did not receive (again due to Covid related issues) though we still ended up paying full price. We have stayed here multiples times over the years and it was always a favorite. I look forward to it returning to what it once was.
Very clean, nice, quick and easy. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Went on a whim, and they accommodated us real fast, and got us a room. Art everywhere, even in the room. Would definitely stay at this place again next time Im in Cincinnati. Oh, almost forgot, the price for it was very reasonable as well.
I found the art very interesting, and the whole idea of the place and what it offers guests and the public to be refreshing, captivating and at times surreal.I cant wait till the Corona virus over and you can go back to drinking wine while relaxing in all the lounge furniture and gazing at all the beautiful art while striking up fabulous conversations with fellow art aficionados.
Its an interesting hotel and the staff is absolutely amazing. I knownrhings a re different with COVID-19 but no one mentioned that on a Monday or Tuesday you cant ordereoom service of any type. Usually not an issue but my stroller wheel busted and it ahcks carrying a 30lb child down town for food lol. Its a must have experience
My girlfriend and I stayed here overnight for a weekend getaway. Lovely accommodations and great view. The best part was definitely after our fancy dinner coming back and popping the champagne we brought, putting on robes and slippers, and walking through the gallery super relaxed. I honestly cant recommend that part enough. Also, front desk was great and service for things we needed was very polite and fast. Would absolutely come back!
This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The staff is incredibly welcoming. Staying here is as if you were able to camp overnight in a museum except the beds are luxurious with wonderful pillows. The bathrooms are bright with a wonderful walk in shower (see if you can find the body parts!) The restaurant has a wonderful breakfast menu in an open airy dining room where you are joined by the large penguins. Highly recommend this hotel.
Adding my review to my original stars only review. The hotel was unique and very pretty. I loved the artwork and found myself wandering around just to take it all in. Its centrally located to many nice spots to enjoy a meal or drinks. The hotel staff was very nice and I loved the extra little artsy touches in the rooms. This was my first time actually staying in Cincinnati after many work visits to the area. Im so glad my company picked this place for once. I definitely changed my mind about visiting Cincinnati in the future.
Took a tour before booking our suite and block of rooms for our wedding. The hotel is unique, fun, and interesting...art is everywhere throughout the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. The staff is amazing...very professional and knowledgeable. The entire hotel is impeccable. We cant wait to stay there for our wedding weekend!
Its always a delight to visit this place. The bar is one of the most innovative in town, and the gallery is always curated with interesting and provocative works. Along with traditional installations they also feature some interactive and experiential pieces as well. Best of all, as it is the lobby of a hotel, the museum is open at all hours of the day and night!
One of our favorite places in the city, not only are the rooms beautiful and the ballroom gorgeous, the staff is top notch and food is delicious! We love having events here and enjoy working with Julie so much. The spa is a wonderful getaway in the city and I highly recommend it for a relaxing day. This hotel is in the heart of downtown and has so much to offer. Whether you stop by for a cocktail and a bite or are looking for a place to hold your wedding, check out this unique hotel!!!
We mentioned it was our anniversary and they gave us a glass of champagne when we checked in. Really cool that theres art exhibits in the hotel. Bed was comfy and the room was really modern. The bar/restaurant connected to the hotel was a good spot for a nightcap. Staff was super friendly. The only downside is the price. It was quite high.
The hotel was great. The Staff were exceptionally friendly, everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff said hello. My one and only complaint is minor and its that there are no ice machines on each floor. You have to call up ice and someone from the front desk brings it. My room also didnt have the greatest view, but the nice trade off was that it was very quiet at night and easy to sleep.Beyond that, the actual bed was very comfortable to sleep on. The rooms and the hotel have interesting décor but everything is new and sleek. Even the lights in the room were super convenient so you could do everything without getting out of bed. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Cincinnati
The service here was exceptionally friendly and thoughtful. The rooms were quiet along with the hallways. Access to the museum was an added plus despite most of it being under reconstruction. The location within the city was nice as well. The only complaint was that the rooms were relatively small despite being upgraded to a deluxe king suite. The added seating area was a couple of chairs off to the side. All in all, the uniqueness of the hotel was worth the stay. An overall reliable and enjoyable place to stay.
A wonderful stay for our 20th anniversary! The hotel is in a great location with lots to do within walking distance. The art in the hotel was really enjoyable and truly unique, and there were really cool touches of art even in the room. The room itself was just right, with a comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and robes as well. They even set us up with a couple nice surprises for our special occasion. Thank you for the great customer service. It really was top-notch!
Very interesting artwork in the common / lobby areas. Very open and welcoming vibe. Friendly staff. Nice room that feels very modern. Great location in the city. The only Con I have is that the room light switches were a little complicated if you dont take 5 minutes to figure out how it all works.
Stayed here for a fun weekend trip. Amazing service, fun rooftop bar, and if you are going to get a massage you wont be disappointed here. Is it pricey, yes, but it is worth the price. I thought so. You get what you pay for. From location, to the art, to the service you will receive here the operation is nothing except excellence.
I have been here a number of times and always loved the museum.A beautiful rotating collection of contemporary art always amazes my friends and family when I show them this hidden gem. From the great service of the doorman to the quiet, contemplative atmosphere of the museum this is a must see for anyone visiting. If you can swing it staying at the hotel is also high on my Cincinnati bucket list!
Basically an average hotel with an art gallery. The room was average. The bathroom had a showerhead that emitted a condensed stream, and the morning we left the water wasnt very hot. The interior design was lacking for a boutique hotel. The dedigner chair didnt fit in the room and was randomly crammed between the bed and the wall. Then there was a lot of little annoyances like you couldnt watch Netflix or Amazon on the TV, there was no trash can in the room so we had to walk it all to the bathroom, there was only one robe in the room. While I enjoyed aspects of the exhibit, the art didnt flow, and many of the pieces were ok.The shop downstair has a limited selection of little food/snacks.This is a franchise that prides itself on being exceptional. 21C can do better than this. My stay at other locations was significantly better than this.
An extremely fun and beautiful hotel that really breaks the expectation of a typical hotel. From the font door the staff is courteous and quick to offer solutions if there is any issue. They had us in for two queens but we preferred one king. Initially it looked like we wouldnt be able to but the employee continued to look and ended up accommodating. I had a headache? The front desk helped me find medicine and offered me water to take it without asking or hesitating. This level of customer service is something most companies dream of achieving and it was the entirety of my experience from valet to front desk, housekeeping, food service, etc. The art museum is a delightful addition that engages you with the hotel beyond just having a bed. It is worth the view and open to the public. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is an art piece in itself as ceramic tiles protrude from the wall as various parts of the body. A bit weird to myself at first but it really grew on me as the hotel feels like an art museum in every aspect. The floors of the bathrooms are Stone and are incredibly comfortable and textured as to not slip. I will be staying here again when in Cincinnati and I recommend it to anyone else visiting.Edit for spelling
I have never had such a rotten experience. We arrived Friday Sept 29 2017. I was told that there was an issue with the booking and all they had was a king room and they could add a roll away bed. After a 5 hours of driving and it being 11pm. I was in no mood to argue. When we got to the room it was nicely decorated. After looking around I started to notice how nasty the room was. We found stains on the carpet, stains and marks on the walls, and what looks like pasta sauce on arm of the lounge chair. The staff was not helpful....It you are looking for a place to stay find somewhere else!
The rooms were very clean, with a very comfortable bed. There was peppermint soap and shampoo, rum infused body wash and soap, and some conditioner. It was all very pleasant. There was a mini bar we didnt partake in so there wasnt a fridge which we could have used. There was a lock box in the drawer and a nice place to use your laptop if you so choose. We got room service from the in house restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered cheeseburgers and they were fantastic and came with miniature bottle of condiments that were adorable. We.also got chocolate mousse and a brownie sundae both were to die for. There is art displayed pretty much everywhere and some of the statues migrate during the day so we shared an elevator with a penguin statue. The front desk staff was very helpful, theyI printed off directions and provided us with cold waters. All and all it was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend it.
We had a great experience here. The room is nicely appointed, the museum/gallery was very cool, and the room service was great. Price wise the room service did not line up with previous experiences weve had at other hotels, but the food was at least very good. The hotel is located close to many great attractions, and we had a great time. There is a spa on the 10th floor that we hope to try out next time.
This was my first stay at a 21c (three day trip) and the hotel is amazing. I really enjoyed the art. Food was excellent at the restaurant, although a little limited in what they offered; both drink and food wise (but no real complaint). The room was clean, standard amenities, king with sitting area, but the bathroom was wonderful. Staff was helpful and cordial. The area of town is an odd mix of people but I was good with that too. My only complaint is the first shift housekeeping forgot our room two days in a row and the second shift turn down housekeeping had to do our room on the second day because I asked why it hadnt been done (second shift gets a gold star and our tip, but the hotel loses one for first shift).
I love the concept, and the staff here is superb. The valets, the front desk, room amenities (Nespresso!) were all great. See the art on the first two floors! Be careful about ordering room service just before the kitchen shuts down though--thats the only sideways glance I got the entire stay.
We came out here for a Reds baseball game with a group of 15 and seriously have been taken care of from the amazing staff from booking to check out. Not only are we a large group we are a large group with a lot of needs; ADA accommodations were phenomenal here working with local business to meet our needs and we had little kids under the age of 5 who LOVED to have a penguin surprise them in their room. On our last night we received an amazing gift from the 21c penguins with a lovely card and lots of goodies including stuffed animals for the kids and souvenirs to remember our trip here.I will always stay here!Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
I only stopped by momentarily to see the rooftop bar. It was very tranquil up there, with a decent view. I was told to try the gin and tonic but I wasnt able to stay long enough to place an order. It has been highly recommended to me though by a couple of friends who allegedly dont even like gin. Downstairs is also an art gallery, which is free to view and could be worth a visit by itself if thats something that interests you.
Stayed for 3 days and met many staff members during my stay. The service was amazing on every level! I have to say a special thank you to Zac in the restaurant for going above and beyond! Stellar service and dedicated to the company. I actually got a history lesson about this awesome hotel chain! Another special thank you to Quinn from valet and Jerry from security. They both made sure I knew all the cool spots in Cincinnati and that we were safe. Last one goes to Greg(?) also from the restaurant but kitchen staff. Nice guy and made sure I tried out their restaurant first before trying anything else. Thank you!
Beautiful hotel, amazing exhibitions on display, first class treatment by all staff, easy valet parking, and close to a number of great places to have a drink or grab a bite to eat. Room was clean and fashionable, with a very comfortable bed. Will definitely be back!
Fun. Fun location, fun staff, fun decor. Bed was not great, housekeeping too eager, but the restaurant roomservice was a godsend with a hangover. Its probably a solid 3star hotel by real standards, but the art and pleasant people kicked it up to 4 for my review. Seriously awesome location and art. Be sure to ask for room with a view, or youll get the alley.
This was a beautifully appointed hotel, with art everywhere, even in the rooms. The bathroom in particular was very striking, which is not something you would normally say about a hotel. The location is great as well, right in the middle of downtown. I was disappointed that we couldnt actually see all the art because of a wedding reception that was happening the same night we stayed there. The staff told us we could still wander through, but it felt too much like crashing someones wedding. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the room smelled a little bit like mildew, and for the price we were paying, Im not super happy about that. But we didnt complain at the time, so I honestly cant be that upset about it.
Our room was amazing. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I was able to viviat the spa and received exceptional service. We visited some of the exhibits but most were closed off due to an event. The only 2 downfalls were the parking availability and there were not many choices for the room service. Overall we had a great experience and would visit again.
I will recommend this hotel. Its good for the price and location. You are in the heart of downtown Cincinnati within walking distance (less than 3 blocks) of food and fun. The Ohio river is 0.5 miles crows flight. The hotel is aesthetic. The double bedded rooms are clean and fairly large.
It is a bit expensive but the experience was well worth it. I like its location in Cincinnati, because of how close it is to the arenas and easy to get to some of the attractions such as the zoo and the Waterfront. Staying at the hotel was very nice. we enjoyed the art museum, the great food, and the friendly staff who were prompt and making sure our needs were met. They do include other things such a spa treatment packages and meal packages. If my review was helpful please like and thank you.
Our overnight stay at the 21C was wonderful. We were checked in promptly and pleasantly once we arrived despite being a few hours early. The person checking us in asked us where we were from and our reason for visiting. After telling him it was our anniversary, he congratulated us and gave us 2 glasses of champagne. The room that we had on the 6th floor was clean, quiet, and modern. It was furnished with a newer LG flat screen TV, fully stocked mini bar, coffee maker, and updated bathroom. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return to this hotel to be guests again in the future!
We only dined there, but I was not a big fan of the food we had. We tried quite a few items on the menu and the only thing I was thrilled with was the cheese board. I probably will not return. The decor was even a little odd in the restaurant. I did however love the hotel entrance with the art exhibit it was set up wonderfully and the pieces were beautiful.
So awesome!! Im really sad we only got one night here. I didnt get a chance to look at all the art. On top of being an art museum/hotel hybrid (what??!) Its beautiful and clean and new and really perfectly located. Our favorite restaurant Sotto is just across the street! I wish I had taken pictures!
I absolutely loved this hotel. If you like art, this hotel is for you! The gallary was great, but they literally had art all over the entire hotel. It was so unique and fun. The decorations in the room were fun and exciting. It was in a fun area with a lot to do right around the hotel, although they had a great resturant and roof top bar at the hotel itself.
The hotel was quite an interesting display of art. We were visiting for a bridal show. The staff was very polite but did not experience any of the rooms and the drink prices we had seemed high, but unsure if that was due to the event or standard price. Also noted that it was very humid and warm throughout the first and second floor, even where population was sparce.
Amazing. Room service was quick, the bed was a nice blend of supportive and soft. The bathroom was stunning!! The work of arts in the gallery were interesting and, this may sound weird, but the lights in the room were so unique that they were beautiful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
This is the second time we have stayed here. Im a modern art lover so I love the idea of staying the night in a museum. This hotel makes that dream come true. But if art isnt your thing and you take that away its just a nice downtown hotel. The rooms are starting to show some age. But the staff is very friendly and helpful.
21C is a very unique experience. Lovely hotel, very attentive, especially if you opt for the weekend Wild package. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of five was restaurant Metropole wasnt the best. Lunch good, dinner not so much. But if youre looking for an experience, come to spend a couple nights at the hotel.
We visited 21c for drinks on the rooftop bar. Our visit was around 10pm on a Saturday night and we were able to get right in with standing room only. We were able to move to a seating area shortly after arriving. Theres not an actual bar on the rooftop deck, but there are servers that walk around taking drink orders. The lighting was darker than I expected, but it made for a nice relaxing atmosphere.
The amenities were all of excellent quality. Any requests were met promptly within minutes and the housekeeping staff kept stopping in the hallways when we walked through to ask how our stay was going and if we were enjoying the hotel. Very clean with a contemporary look. Bottom line -Worth every cent.
My friends from NYC came in to town and were excited to try a 21C hotel. They had a nice 2 room suite which was modern and clean though not very spacious. The bathroom was weird with the toilet being in the open with the sinks and through a glass door were a separate tub and shower but sharing the little space behind the glass door. The door would have been better closing in the toilet. The mini bar was stocked with random items not enough mixers or snacks. The bed and sectional couch were both very comfortable and loved having the yellow penguin in the room for photos. They had issues with their room keys working all weekend constantly needing to get new ones each time they left their room. They had booked a detox wrap at the spa and when he arrived the women working told him she did not know how to do that procedure and comvinced him to have a facial. He is very familiar with spa services all over the world, but what he received was the strangest experience in his life. The womans English was lacking but her strength was not and nearly rubbed the top layers of skin off his face , then applied something that was meant to tingle but felt like a 3 alarm fire. Being of Nordic decent he spent the next several days looking bright red.
This was our 2nd time staying at the 21C and we loved it just as much! Upon check in we were given a complimentary upgrade to our room and my significant other was given a flute of champagne. What a greeting! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The unique ambiance of the museum and hotel make for a sophisticated night out! The rooms are sleek and contemporary but still maintain a comfort and coziness. Well done Cincinnati’s 21C Hotel - keep up the fantastic work.
From the staff to the decor, this hotel is by far the BEST option in Cincinnati. Why stay at any other hotel when in the lobby is a museum?! Having art in the halls, the elevator, and littered throughout the room was a huge plus for us. We also enjoyed the amazing spa which was of course.. out of this world. We stayed here after our wedding and it was like a mini honeymoon, even if only for two nights.
Ive only been in the lobby, the fitness floor, second floor and roof top of this hotel, but it seems to be a great place! We captured beautiful Bride and Bridesmaids shots on the Circular Staircase! Amazing! We also shot a portion of a realty show on the roof top! I hope to stay in one of the rooms this year!
Our stay at 21C was wonderful! My wife and I stayed the first night of our honeymoon and we have no complaints. We were treated very well and anything we needed was taken care of. Customer service was incredible! Big, clean, well stocked rooms. We enjoyed seeing all the art in the galleries and were pleased to see it throughout the guest rooms and halls, in all the little details. We love unique places and this is definitely a place you want to stay. If youre looking for a cool experience and a hotel with more than a hot tub and a breakfast of boiled eggs and bagels, you need to check it out.
21c treated us like royalty. My husband and I were planning on eloping this past Monday in a park. While the initial forecast called for rain (which meant a relatively empty park) the weather ended up being amazing!! This meant though, that the park was packed--not quite the escape we were hoping for. After checking into the hotel and talking with the front desk, they offered us to elope in the art galleries!! So they closed off the space just for us to have a short 15 minute private ceremony. We left for pictures and my stepdad ran back to get a forgotten phone, just in time to see they were bringing us 5 champagne glasses to celebrate!!! Since we were gone, they promised theyd make it up to us, and we arrived back to a room with chocolate covered strawberries. Honestly, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND what they needed to do to make that day special, and I could not recommend 21c enough!!!Beautiful space, amazing people, and just a great time!!
Visited for the ACLU Halloween party. My friend and I had a great time. The art elements made for a unique experience, the music was great, and we look forward to returning next year. We only stayed for a couple hours. My biggest recommendation is crowd control in the hallway areas. Especially before they opened the door to the dance area.
Everything, from valet parking and assistance getting all my stuff to room for my daughters wedding day was absolutely AMAZING!!! anything and everything we needed was handled, delivered etc. The hotel even sent up 2 bottles of champagne to celebrate and toast my daughter. I cannot say enough about how amazing our experience was
Hotel was fantastic. Loved the art work both on the first 2 floors and the abstract art in the room. The room was clean and cozy with all the amenities. The roof top bar is small but has great drinks and atmosphere but limited seating , gets cramped easily. The metropole returant had great food however there was always a heavy fried food smell when coming off the elevators near the resturant which was slightly off putting. But overall a great hotel! Would return.
I went to the 21c Museum for the Future is Female Yelp event and it was a wonderful experience. The art is truly breathtaking and you can see the gallery any time any day for free. Absolutely stunning. I didnt stay in the hotel as a guest so Im not sure how the rooms are but I was told they have art installed in then as well. There is a restaurant on site and its right downtown so its extremely convienant! I would highly recommend staying there but at the very least check it out for the art.
I have never stayed here as a hotel. I have only been here as it is a free-to-the-public art gallery. The exhibits are always interesting and intriguing. Some of the art may not be family friendly but I have never had an issue of taking my daughter to see it. One of everyones favorites is the interactive floor on the second floor. It is so much fun.The staff have always been friendly and hold the door open when you want to go in.
Boyfriend and I stayed here a few weeks back. If youre ever in Cincinnati, this is the only hotel you need to stay. Very artsy in every description, even the bathroom walls. They treat their guests like royalty. The modern art museum is a plus!! As well as the location, right in the middle of downtown.
This is The Best place to stay in Cincinnati. I cant say enough good things about this hotel and its employees! I stay here practically every week and dread when theyre fully booked and I have to stay somewhere else! The hotel itself is beautiful and inspiring (thanks to the artwork throughout), and it is extremely welcoming and clean. Everyone that works there is so friendly, attentive, and professional (especially Anna!), that it feels like home. Love, love, love 21c!
Yikes rates are great online higher in person even higher for AAA hmm…sketchy when your front desk comes in the highest offers to match Travelocity just don’t be sketchy and try to find a good rate from the start for customers…would of loved to check this place out but that shows how you run your business.
Great modern art and rooms with fun crazy accents. Staff was amazing too I highly recommend you stay here. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We noticed every staff member said hello with a friendly smile. I highly recommend this hotel for couples looking for a ro***tic get away.
Interesting way to spend 20 minutes. Clean environment, nice and quiet atmosphere. Intriguing art collection, no one to disturb you. Its not really what you would think when art museum comes to mind. Simply put, its art in various forms, using unique mediums to create their pieces. Different and unique
I only went to the hotels gallery rooms but its pretty cool. Its a little hipster for my tastes but I think its serves its purpose. The floors are mostly painted concrete and there is abstract art everywhere. Mustard yellow and royal purple was the color scheme for the room I was in. It felt very posh. That being said, I was FREEZING the whole time.
I loved this hotel. Almost everything was great. Loved the design and layout, the modern decor, friendly staff, laid back approach, chic and quirky, clean and updated rooms, and plenty of comforts. The only negative I found was the internet speeds. The ethernet connection did not work, I tried 3 different cables, they even brought another up, no good. Wifi speeds at night were horrible. See photo. Other than that, highly recommended, and would go out of my way to stay again.
Great hotel. The staff was very helpful on all requests. The room was comfortable and uodated, with a minibar. The hotel has a very cool museum in premises and the offer free tours on Saturdays. The restaurant at the hotel lobby serves as room service also, high quality food but a little bit pricey.UberEats is available also offering late night food.Overall a great experience.
Saturday evening had drinks at the rooftop bar. Good drinks, Great interaction with the staff. Sunday morning had brunch at the hotel restaurant. Food was excellent and staff was great. Had our own yellow penguin at our table. Eat at their restaurant and see what thats all about!
Nice rooms, interesting decor. Museum pieces change several times a year. Didnt realize I was staying during a change, I would have made a point to see everything the first night, bonus though the new ones will be in before we leave. Interesting place, clean and friendly staff!
So great to find a hotel anywhere with this level of imagination, quality rooms and great service. Even in New York or London 21c could easily hold its own. Having the art gallery in the hotel is inspired and its a proper gallery not a token effort. Location is brilliant for the best downtown restaurants and easy walk to the bars OTR.
Hotel/museum is beautiful, but the new years event was only a 3. The party was over-sold and overcrowded. There were 3 bars which had a 30 min + line all night. What room on the dance floor wasnt dominated by the bar lines was dangerously overcrowded to the point of being unable to move, especially at midnight. More bars, fewer people, pre batched drinks, faster bartending, personnel to prevent guests from touching the art, any or all would have improved the night. It was a great idea on paper.
I loved this hotel and would recommend anyone visiting cincinnati for any reason to stay here. We stayed in room 1004 and have to say our room was very spacious compared to our friends next door. I just wanted a good nights sleep. The staff was very accommodating without being pushy. Im always endlessly amused by the super hip staff at the front desk and I love the little yellow penguin pins that everyone wears.
This place is so so so overpriced. My room was coldy decorated (one could argue it was just simply ugly) and not clean. The bathroom had dust behind objects and the sheets were torn. The furniture piece under the TV was chipped and the floor was stained. The staff was not friendly. Now, if this hotel was priced way less I would be cool with these things. However, this hotel is very expensive and nothing about it is worth the money.
Despite seeing the many good reviews, our experience was not anywhere near the level of others that have posted. There was hair all over the bathtub and the drain was blocked. We need to call not once, but twice to have the drain repaired. We were also charged for 3 valet parking vehicles, despite only having one vehicle and staying one night. It took multiple phone calls to get the receipt and the charges adjusted correctly. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this hotel again.
Pretty nice hotel with very good attention. The whole art concept provides for a different experience that I actually enjoyed. Location is also excellent, I went there for a business trip and I was within walking distance of the mayor company HQs in the area.I give it 4 stars because I do think its probably overpriced, especially since the food wasnt that great (its not bad either, just that I would expect a lot more from a hotel in this price range, and for food that expensive I thought it was pretty plain). I would recommend eating somewhere else, probably trying the best of the midwest cuisine around.
Amazing museum-hotel right in the heart of Cincinnati. High quality service, comfortable rooms, relaxing atmosphere along with fascinating art all over the place. Manager Lauren gives the best deals and makes sure you have a pleasant stay. Bartender Clinton knows everything about the bar and cocktails and is very interesting person to talk to. Highly suggest to stay at 21c Hotel.

2022-04-16We absolutely loved all the art throughout the hotel. Perhaps they will add more art to the second level... We rented the deluxe king and the room was clean and cozy. The bathroom tiles in the shower were a very nice touch. The restaurant Metropole, which is with in the hotel, was absolutely delicious. We stayed during the week of Christmas, we were able to attend an indoor light show within walking distance of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

2022-05-05Honestly, had a rough experience and did get the support from the staff we’d hoped for.First off, we booked a stay on a date that specifically could accommodate a momma to be massage. After several emails confirming our date/stay would work with a spa service .. we got a phone call less than an hour before heading up to the massage. There was no availability to rebook us before we left. It’s of course understandable that someone gets sick or calls off.. but what was very disappointing was the staff did not try to apologize for the mishap and no one acknowledged how incredibly last minute the cancellation happened.I tried talking to the front desk and was absolutely brushed off and my emails were ignored. It definitely did not feel the experience I paid for. Also, I am aware this is petty but the front desk told us there was complimentary breakfast from 7-10. We were downstairs by 9 and saw everything gone. When I asked the desk they said they wouldn’t be refilling it and the restaurant wouldn’t open until dinner. The hotel made us feel like we were not guests but quite frankly a burden to everyone working!

2022-03-02Dont get me wrong, its a very nice boutique hotel and potentially the best in downtown Cincinnati, but our most recent stay left much to be desired. We booked a corner room for a parents night out and were surprised to find one of the bathroom sinks not functional (luckily there were two) and only 1 set of towels. The hotel bar was nice but the drinks were a tad bit on the strong side. The toiletries are high end except for the hand soap that leaves a strange film on your skin. Lastly, the bathroom was nice, but by no means luxurious which is what I expect for a $400+ room. We may stay here again but mainly due to the lack of other options in such a great location.

2022-02-23Fantastic hotel with surprises around every corner. Very clean and friendly. Fun to explore and see all the art being displayed or even integrated into the hotel. Service was top notch from everyone. Food and drinks were good, too. Would definitely stay again.

2022-05-10The room was very clean, the body wash and soap smelled nice and didn’t dry my skin out. The bartender (Brandon?) was great. Funny and personable. The drink was absurdly expensive though. The art was nice and fun to peruse.

2022-06-29The staff was absolutely amazing!!!!! Very kind and helpful. Our first room had food left in the mini bar that was no longer working. We were switched to a new room. The manager and a very nice young man helped us move to our new room. The rooms were nice. Need to let them know if you want it cleaned. Rooms were kind of dated. Furniture seemed worn. And it was very stark and uninviting. The art was amazing!!!!!!

2022-01-29The staff are amazing!!! I can’t say enough about the service. The restaurant also has great food. I am disappointed in our room though. The linens just aren’t quite comfortable and the bath and shower in one is not well thought out. Generally disappointed with the quality of the furnishings and the view isn’t quite as good as advertised. We are in a corner suite so we are definitely not in an economy room. I just expected more, especially considering the blinds on half of the corner won’t even raise. Just disappointed with the actual room though. Would probably come back because the service is excellent!

2022-05-07Its really a gem of a hotel. Ive never stayed anywhere quite like it. Slightly old room, but full of art and design. Comfortable. Very attentive and responsive staff. I feel really taken care of and the location is right in downtown. Love this place.

2022-04-3021c is a nice hotel. The rooms are contemporary, though nothing special. The biggest draw is the art museum on the first and second floors, which is free. Its definitely worth an hour of your time to look around. The coffee and small breakfast of pasties is worth skipping.
