A beautiful comfortable setting, with great breakfast, and excellent hospitality. We will long treasure the memory of lounging by the pool and enjoying the day swinging on the front porch. Learning about the history of the house was icing on the cake! Well definitely be back.
Recently visited the 1861 Inn Bed & Breakfast (mid-March of 2018) and very much enjoyed our stay. Carole and Tim were excellent hosts. The room was very relaxing and the food was incredible. We will be back! Thanks again.
What a fantastic and enjoyable stay at 1861 inn! From an outstanding and comfortable room to fabulous meals, this is the best B&B experience ever! I most enjoyed sitting around the pool, talking and the evening breeze! Dont miss a chance to stay here!

2nd time, and couldnt have imagined it to have been any Better. Tom and Carole are GREAT. The experience is one we will enjoy as many times as we can.
Wonderful B&B with very kind hosts. Lots of history. The lady and I had a very romantic weekend there and plan to return.
Not a bad Lil place to stay. But didnt like the fact that the owners went into our room while we was gone, plus they turned the a/c off also.
We stayed in the Guest Cottage. Cozy accommodations. Warm, friendly innkeepers. Delicious, gourmet breakfasts!
Super food. Great attention to detail. Management works to insure that every second of your visit is flawless.
Pleasantly surprised! A great stay and would highly recommended.

2019-03-18My husband I stayed at the 1861 Inn for our babymoon. We were treated to amazing hospitality from Carole and Tom from the moment we entered their beautiful home. As a part of our package we received homemade baked treats and milk/tea in the evening delivered to our room and then massages the next morning after a delicious breakfast. The food was INCREDIBLE (some of the best homemade blueberry pancakes I have ever had), the house is charming, and the Inn Keepers are kind and welcoming. It is also worth noting that the massage therapist they work with was exceptional! We hope to return when the weather is warmer and enjoy the beautiful pool and backyard area.

2018-06-01Thank you so much for making our anniversary and first bed & breakfast experience a great one! We loved the private dinner so we highly recommend it to anyone who books here, its worth the extra cost!! Our other favorite part was the porch swing. We probably could have sat on the porch swing all day and night. We hope to come back sometime in the summer though so we can enjoy the pool. The amazing couple that run the bed & breakfast also have a dog named Marley. Hes incredibly sweet! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for a night or two.

2018-10-09The 1861 Inn is a gem! Tucked away down a long drive, the house is welcoming and the hosts make us feel like weve come home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The house is quiet and calming. A late night snack is something to look forward to here - a homemade dessert to end the day. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Tom and Carole provide the history of the home and wonderful memories for those that visit. And Marley, a therapy dog, is truly an added bonus - we left feeling like we wanted to stay!

2019-07-28My family stayed at the 1861 Inn for several days while attending a funeral. The Inn is lovely and quite comfortable, and the setting is very peaceful. The innkeepers, Carole and Tom, were incredibly kind and accommodating during this difficult time. Moreover, the food was outstanding! Carole is a phenomenal cook. This was by far the best lodging choice in Clermont County.

2019-03-28What a delightful weekend at the 1861 Inn. The Inn is beautifullydecorated and well maintained both inside and outside. Tom and Caroleare amazing hosts with impeccable attention to detail. You will notfind a better breakfast anywhere! I spent hours curled up in front ofthe fireplace in the library with sweet Marley (the Inns verywell-behaved canine) at my feet. I look forward to a visit in thesummer to enjoy the pool.

2018-10-17We were in for a wedding close by and stayed one night. Carole and Tom were fantastic hosts. We were welcomed from the moment we pulled in and shown to our very nice room with a glass of wine in hand. We were able to come and go as we pleased and spent the last few minutes of our evening listening to the rain on the porch swing. The next morning, Carole prepared an amazing breakfast including apple fritters (from a recipe of her mothers). As Marley (the family dog) made rounds to be pet, Tom shared the complete history of what is now their BnB. We definitely recommend staying here to anyone in Cincinnati looking for an off the beaten path staycation. We look forward to visiting again!

2018-06-26We really enjoyed our stay. Carol and Tom were great hosts. We had The Jenny room which had it own private screened in porch which we used a lot. Coffee was delivered to our room 45 minutes before we went down for a great breakfast. The grounds were well done and all in all we would definitely stay there again.

2018-07-01We spent the weekend with friends at the 1861 Inn and it was fabulous. We had the Riverview room. The pool was open and relaxing. Tom & Carol are gracious hosts who go to great lengths to provide a great experience. My wife has celiac disease and her nutritional concerns were accommodated. The food was excellent and the amenities were stellar. We already spoke with the Tom & Carol about coming back in the fall. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.Jim & Janice Weaver

2016-08-09I had a choice between another boring night at a Courtyard or HYATT Place. Instead, I tried this little B&B. What a great choice! Carole and Tom are wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool and setting is a million times more relaxing than another business hotel. Tom brought beer out as I worked by the pool. Had a great run in the country. Breakfast was the best Ive had in a long time. To top it off, I already miss Marley the dog. A charming place with charming owners. Go out of your way to pay them a visit.

2019-08-22Five members of my family stayed at the Inn for 2 nights on the weekend of our daughters wedding. The basics of comfort, delicious breakfasts, and lovely rooms were all there - however, Carole and Tom graciously accommodated extra family who came for photos and wedding preparations. We had a wonderful time and made great memories. Carole and Tom have indeed created an oasis in Batavia.
