The food was very good - I had the steak and it was perfectly done. Most of the responses from my companions were also very good. Cocktails - same. The yule mule was dee-lish. Their liquor selection was like they sent a non-drinker down to the local state store and told them to not buy above their waste. Okay, maybe not quite that bad, but when every wine is from California, they could use a little help.
I enjoyed the crab cakes sitting on top of bacon and a couple slices of fries green tomatoes. The Pappardelle bolognese did not have much flavor.Good beer selection.
Wonderful food and staff.The entire experience was excellent and I highly recommend the restaurant.

17 West is one of my favorite places to eat whenever I am in the area. From the accommodating service, to the delicious food, to the soothing atmosphere, all around a great place to eat with your friends and family. Great options for parking, there are 4 available right in front of the restaurant and an extension of options available in the back. As far as accessibility goes, some people with mobility limitations might have s hard time making it up the hill from the reserved parking spots to the resturaunt. There are also two steps leading into the bar and dining area of the restaurant, making it difficult for those who may be in a wheelchair of who have difficulty making it up steps. There is an options to eat in the more formal area of the resturaunt with no steps.

Our first visit here. Very nice decor and a beautiful bar. Service was excellent as was the food. The pork chop was big and cooked to a perfect medium. Also, it was delicious!
We were very disappointed with the quality of food here. I took the my lady there to have a wonderful dinner and propose marriage at this so called, extravagant restaurant but after trying our appetizer and dinner I decided to keep the ring in my pocket. I was too embarrassed to go through with my plans after I had to spit my scallops in to my napkin.
Really the only upscale restaurant in the area. Its nice, but my food experience has been inconsistent. The few times Ive eaten there its been good, but there was once there I had lunch and the food seemed like it had been sitting out for a bit and was Meh. Maybe it was a one off, I dont know, because every other time has been good. Sitting on their patio during the summer with a cool drink and some friends is a really nice experience. The staff is great, and New Bremen is such a quiet sleepy town.
Our waitress was wonderful, the food was disappointing, 17 W is a convenient location for family gatherings and we have been going for years . The pork chop was burnt , the vegetables were cold , my wife’s Walleye was over cooked , the vegetables were cold as well & the mashed cauliflower was dry, and a very odd consistency. Overall we were very disappointed. The meal left us waiting over an hr to be served . :(
Its one of if not the nicest places restaurants in the area. The service is great and the food is good. Sitting on the bar side of the restaurant is fun. The other side of the restaurant is better if you have a group or want your rating experience to be quieter. There is outdoor seating as well. The only negative is that the menu does change frequently, so if you like something on the menu it might not be there in a few months. The prices are good for the quality and size of the dishes. Enjoy!
The food was amazing, best food i have ever had lots of flavor. Price wasnt bad at all cost you same price for two go to anyname brand restaurant, but food quality way better, really polite staff, really welcoming! Definitely be back!
Amazing! It is so fantastic to have so many options from: salad, appetizer, entree and even to desert that are gluten-free and amazingly delicious. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon and it was quite busy but we were served quickly and enjoyed every moment of our visit!

Have not been there since new ownership. Was so pleased that almost their entire menu is gluten free!!! was wonderful to not be limited to 2 things on a menu and worry I would still get sick! It was wonderful food. I got to eat things I havent been able to for years like calamari!
My in-laws treated us to dinner at 17 West for my birthday. The steak was awesome and cooked exactly as asked. Atmosphere was very nice and we had an excellent experience all the way around. Well be back!

Just had a great experience at 17 West. The food and service was excellent. I was not expecting such a nice restaurant in this small town and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely stop in if youre in town looking for somewhere nice to eat.

My husband and I dined at 17 West in New Bremen Ohio for our anniversary dinner. I found a hair in my meal, the manager apologized and comped us a free dessert. A few minutes later my husband found a small bug crawling around on his plate after showing this this to the manager he blamed it on “Murphy’s Law”, and charged us for everything except the dessert. Food had good taste, possibly better without hair and bugs. If you dine at 17 west check your food before you consume it.

The number one rule for where to eat is to follow the locals, and people in the area love 17 West. Its a wonderful combination of where a German village meets Tuscany. The steaks are delicious and seafood is equally well prepared. The Citrus Soy Salmon is a personal favorite!Weather permitting, dine outside on the veranda. You get a nice view of the Lock One Park – adjoining the historic Miami and Erie canal – while settling into the relaxed side of 17 West.17 West is less than 15 minutes west of I-75, and a diversion that you will be glad you made.
The food is constantly fresh and delightful, workers hands out awesome customer service. I love how clean it is and atmosphere. Will come visit again.

It was excellent,had the ribeye it was perfect baked potato and rice all was very good,waitress was very nice place was very clean as good or better than restaurants where we live in Cincinnati.
Excellent food. Pasta Alfredo was perfect. Loved the (optional) anchovies on the salad. Not too salty, as they sometimes can be in other places.

Stopped in New Bremen for business. Ate the Turkey sandwich here and it was one of the best Sandwiches I have had in a long time. Very nice interior for the dining room.
Cute restaurant in a quaint little town. Lovely patio with entertainment on Wednesday evenings. Roasted red pepper with smoked gouda and crabmeat soup was yummy as was the salmon entree. Very pleasant service.

This is my second time here and Im quite disappointed with the food. Please pay closer attention to when to flip your meats and also when to take them off. My honey bourbon pork chop was very dry and couldnt cut into it. It was like chef was more occupied with the OSU and Penn State football game than the entree. Also, please be more generous with the honey bourbon glaze. There was hardly any on my pork chop. I only say it burnt on the edges of my pork chop.
Told us they were all reserved but we could sit at bar. There were only 3 tables with people at them and 1 person at the bar. We waited over 5 minutes no one even talked to us, brought us menus so we left
Was not impressed with the food at all. As many people that talk this place up it was not the experience I was hoping for. Hour & 45 minutes later food arrived. Only thing worth eating was dessert.
Place is beautiful, staff friendly, good packaging however terrible food, among the worst i have ever had in my life. Meals were bland and tasteless.

2022-03-03My wife and I had an early dinner on a Wednesday. The restaurant was immaculate and well kept. The server was with us immediately and was very attentive through the entire meal. My wife had the shepherds pie and said it was the best she had ever had. I had the garden Alfredo. The pasta was perfect and the sauce light and complementary not heavy like a lot of Alfredo sauces. The prices were very reasonable for the experience and impeccable meals. This is not a chain experience it is a beautifully prepared meal in a perfect setting with the best service I have encountered in a long time. Treat yourself you won’t be disappointed.

2021-11-11I was pleasantly surprised by 17 West in New Bremen, Ohio. I was visiting from Colorado and my sister (who lives a block away) took me here for lunch. We were welcomed warmly and service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere outstanding. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Ohio.

2022-06-20Was down for the Eldora race and decided to stop in. Great old place with amazing food, drinks and good service. We feel this was one of the best meals we had in many years, we are well traveled and eat out most nights of the week. This is now a must stop for us

2020-08-08Great food! We ordered the lobster corn fritters for an appetizer. They were delicious! Also had the crab cake BLT with fries. The crab cake is spicy, but very good. The fries were perfect! We also split the brownie dessert...amazing. They have a large bar of beers, wines and other liquors. Overall, the food was fantastic! Definitely a new favorite eating spot.

2021-10-07UPDATE:We were so happy that 17 West brought back their signature steaks. We returned and had one of the best meals we have had....anywhere, and we live in DC, where the choices are plentiful. The veal chop and ribeye are second to none, as are all the sides. Waitress was a delight, and the cocktails are always made to perfection. Truly one of our favorite places that we visit, and weve traveled the entire country!!QWe were really looking forward to stopping in at our favorite small town restaurant, but were so very disappointed when we learned the menu changed, and no longer offered the best steaks. Why on earth would you add chopped steak, and remove a ribeye?! We honestly looked forward to coming here every time we were in town. Sadly, the menu is now just boring, and well be looking for an alternative place to dine.

2021-11-21We always enjoy 17 West! Food is great and atmosphere is nice for both family and romantic. The fish is my favorite and most things are really good. I can’t say I would recommend the lamb chops but everything else is delish.
