Bartenders will rip you off and their service is HORRIBLE, the “manager” doesn’t treat customers with respect and doesn’t know what he’s doing as well. The bouncers are pathetic, immature, and drunk on the job. I guess that’s what you get when you’re in a college bar. Sad how they conduct and operate a business. Honestly would give Zero stars if I could.

Personally I like it when the waiters/waitresses give you some space. I hate it when theyre always bothering you to see if you need anything, like leave me alone!! I just wanna eat and talk to my partner. So I loved the service here because our waitress didnt bother us unless she needed to. However, I understand that most people dont like that type of service, so bare that in mind when you go there. The music was good, the sushi was excellent, the drinks were cheap & good, and bars atmosphere was cool. Will definitely be returning!
Have fun getting creeped on by the weirdest guys here. Also, it smells musty like you guys have water damage or something stinks idk you need to check it out.
Put an order through door dash. Door dasher was great; 157 lounge was not. There wasn’t an option online to ask for extra sauce, so we tried calling in after placing the order to update it. 157 lounge said to hold and then never came back. After 5 minutes of waiting they hung up on me. I tried calling back and they picked up and immediately hung up again. It was incredibly rude. After doing this a few times (roughly 5), they took the phone off the hook so no one could call the store anymore. The food was alright - but a little pricy for what your getting. I won’t be ordering from there anymore. (Again, nothing wrong with door dash - they were great).
The fish are so cool. The bouncers are so nice I felt so protected.
Very hit or miss restaurant for me. The food is always good. But the service ranges from very good to today. 9/20 which was the worst service I have ever gotten. Our waitress spent way more time with all the other customers and just kinda ignored us. When you frequent a restaurant you get a feel for how things are supposed to be. It took way too long to get our checks and even longer to get our food. It was confusing too because there was only at maximum 3 tables of people including us. And our waitress said they were crazy busy after it took her 20 minutes to take my card and bring it back.
The perfect place if you want terrible service. Given the option between passing a kidney stone or getting a drink here Id pick the prior.You should be informed on the owner and decide of you want to drink here.I even once heard a worker offer a free drink for a 5 star review. Thats always a good sign.Id say this place is an absolute pass. Any bar in Kent is a much better stop. I gave them a couple fair chances and each experience was worse than the last.
Used to be okay, but now. Tiny pathetic and tough slivers of fish, mounded upon loose, table-spoon sized clumps of rice. Drinks arent half bad. I have never seen the same waitress there twice. Made sense when I learned about the owner. Total dirt bag, look him up. So many better places to go in Kent.
Throw the whole staff away. All of the bartenders were rude, didnt know how to make basic drinks, and had excessive attitudes. Whoever the DJ was Halloween weekend (Oct. 28th) sucked- he talked all the time for no reason, and skipped through every 5 good songs that he actually played. I think the only reason we went to this place is because a good bar had a long line.
157 is my favorite place to go in downtown Kent! The sushi is great, drinks come fast, and the DJs are excellent. Great place to eat during the day, and party late night on the weekends. Also the only place in Kent where you can reserve a table and get bottle service.
Terrible service, bartenders drinking behind the bar which is illegal. The owner himself is a creep, and shady person. Tried to hook up with my sister repeatedly during the night, gave her free shots, and when she finally said she wasnt going to come home with him, he was cursing her out and calling her obscene names and kicked us out for no reason whatsoever.
As a sushi conniseur, I decided to give this place a shot. While I understand, I am no longer in Austin, I do expect a sushi bar to have a modicum of knowledge in regards to this delicacy. Unfortunately, 157 does not. The fish was surely not fresh, and in fact, tasted freezer burnt...the rice was mediocre at best, and the wasabi was clearly made from powder.After 2 pieces (I truly had to force the 2nd one down), I called it a day and got my check. Not one to waste food, I took the remaining eats home....where even my dog refused to eat it.
Delicious sushi! Best Ive found in Kent so far. But the service SUCKS! Theyre all stuck up skanks who are too busy texting on their phones to give service. I ordered take out and it took 20 minutes for me to get their attention while she literally stood behind the bar on her phone and kept looking at me.
Amazing sushi, amazing staff! Everyone went above and beyond to make the experience incredible. Late night drinks are awesome as well! 10/10 would recommend!!!

I was kicked out by a bouncer for dancing with my boyfriend because he was homophobic. I literally have screenshots of him typing in my phone to tell me why he wasn’t comfortable with me dancing with my boyfriend. I can’t believe a bar in Kent would react this way. I will never visit this bar again and I will encourage my friends to never visit this bar either. Hopefully the police will get involved as well.
The bouncer at this bar called my friend and I “dumb b*tches” after taking my friends real 21 year old ID and not giving it back. Their customer service sucked and their employees were the rudest people I have ever met in my life.
My favorite sushi in kent!!!!! I love the Mixed Bowl, you can create your own perfect mixture, plus the signature drinks are amazing!
Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had and a great atmosphere to be in. It’s a great place for a night out. I would definitely go back and recommend it to friends and family.
Crumble Shrimp here is my absolute favorite! Reasonably priced drinks and a good atmosphere for people who like to socialize and have a good time in Kent.

Ive never in my life been so disgusted by a group of staff, especially the owner who casually walks around hitting on girls. Rude, terrible service. I will never in my life return to Lounge 157.
Ok lets start with the countless alleged RAPE stories MATT GUSKA, the bar owner, has been the center of, allegedly utilizing drugs to aid. Matt Guska also likes to use sensitive information from ID cards he steals and freakishly likes to publicly imitate and/or mock young women and their families. He also prefers to use the occasional threat of emabrassment or degradation to keep these women silent(up to and including the occasional death threat). This guy is evil.
Awesome ultra lounge in the heart of Water Street in Kent. 3 good friends own the bar and have turned it from an abandoned bank into the place to be seen by the ultra classy crowd at Kent. The super high ceilings lit w/ chipotle style industrial halogens give this place a really chill vibe. The massive salt water fish tank also adds some cool cache to the place. The DJ booth is always rockin tunes that spill out into the street luring passerbys in all night.
So slow and the service was terrible. The food was so good though! I would give it another try next time I’m in the Kent area
Poorly trained staff. A friend that had no alcohol was kicked out for tying his shoe but the guy thought he was too drunk to stand up. Yet let obviously drunk people tripping over themselves stay. Never going back.

This is the last place in Kent I would go. We happened to go a group of 12 members. The staff was too harsh and rude with us. Moreover, they bought some silly and nonsense comments on us where we have to leave the place abruptly. I will never visit this place again!
Decent sushi for an alright price. The atmosphere is nice, but the walls could use some art.

2022-07-23I am very disappointed about my experience at 157 Lounge. It was the worst experience at a bar I have ever had. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The workers have a terrible attitude. I was almost kicked out last night for being harassed by OTHER people in the bar. I would like to get in contact with the manager because the workers make customers, who are spending lots of money, feel very unwelcome. No one should ever waste their time coming here. It is not worth the money for the service that is provided.

2022-02-18Matt Guska is the Superman of Kent. I was thirsty and this man gave me drink, hungry and he fed me. The work he does to give back to the community is incredible and so generous. I heard he also helps out at the animal shelter. All around great guy and his customer service is unbeatable 10 stars from me!

2021-11-24This place has one of the best customer service I have ever received in my entire life. This bar is the center of my entire bar. I converse in this bar, I make memories in this bar, sometimes I even cry tears of joy in this bar. This bar has been more than anything I could every ask for. The workers here are not only friends, but family. They will even be in my wedding, which will be the at the amazing outdoor area 157 has to offer.

2022-01-30I’m 22 and the bouncer almost took my very real Michigan ID after checking it with just a flashlight and not a black light lol. Would’ve had to order a new one.If this happens to you just press and ask him to see his manager, he’ll give it back to you and say “we have to call the cops if you still want to get in” but you’ll get your ID back.

2021-04-24When I lived in Kent this was my go-to bar. Great djs. Security made sure we all were safe. IDs were checked at door. Large dance floor. Great party atmosphere. Bathrooms were suprisingly clean. Not a long wait for them either. When I used to go, this bar did get crowded. There is a very stylish vip section that you can pay extra for. The decor in this club is very modern and classy feeling.
