So extremely unsatisfied. The salesperson lied about the price. Charged us extra after for fuel costs. RATS INFESTED OUR ZIPPY SHELL. Poor follow up on trying to reconcile the situation. They’ve been giving us the runaround. 21 days later.. still trying to talk to the Claims department.
I received a call two days prior to the delivery of my container that they did not have a container available. When you call customer service to order the answer immediately when you require service you will be on hold for an extended period of time over an hour.
I had a couple charge issues, but each was corrected in my favor. I thought that this company was more professional and easier to work with than the other popular container company.
This was the most horrific moving experience. I would strongly recommend that NOBODY use their services. Their customer service was atrocious in that my pod was lost for over a week, and I was not given ANY answers until one day it showed up more than a week later. I sat on hold for hours without being able to speak to a live person. It was extraordinarily stressful, and made my move a complete nightmare. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to replace items while I was waiting in limbo for my pod. This is the worst moving company that has ever existed.
Everything was great when ordering and getting it delivered it was a communication nightmare after. Could get another ones delivered in 2 days but not able to pick up for 10. Called times sat on hold after 3rd call holding left a message as requested to be called back, 3 days later still no call. Spoke with 3 people, 3 different times and was told they would get back with me...never did! Would not use them as gain. Go local!
Complete waste of time and money dealing with this company. The communcation is lousy. Existing customers rarely get through to speak to anyone without leaving a message then maybe someone might call you back. No need to ask for a supervisor because the reps. are trained to talk you right of the phone as if they can resolve the problem. I paid a movers from another company to load and unload the unit plus paid pack rat 3 times. For driver to drop unit off (original destination ). For driver to drop off at new location and to pick empty unit from new location. They will nickle and dime you for sure. Long story short the process of a local move should have been simpler and cheaper and less time consuming hiring movers with a truck. At least it would have eliminate paying two companies, five different transactions for 1 move . Never again will I use Pack Rat!!!
After discussing in grave detail my drop off location with the sales rep and looking at google maps together to discuss, the morning of my move I was told the box could not be delivered to my location. There is no excuse for this. I had to have it delivered to another location and then pay movers twice to move my things. The process is obviously flawed and your customer service leaves quite a lot to be desired. Other companies that provide the exact same service do so with far more planning, consistency and customer service. Consider the ball dropped hard on this one.
This is the most horrible moving company out there. They lied to me about the date they would drop the pod off and pick up the pod, Also I have been moved from Texas to ohio for 1 month now and I still haven’t received, the pod with my belongings. I have called them over 50x trying to get information on my belongings and all they can say is. You will get it. There is no corporate number, an every time u ask for a manager there’s no manager on site. I spent 3 gram and this is the service you get.. This is a company under ZIPPY SHELLS
False ADVERTISEMENT at its finest ! On there site they say LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEED and they beat competitors price . WRONG. They were $150 more than PODS. I was on hold for a supervisor for over an hour than they disconnected me , called back again and was told a supervisor would call me back because they were in a “meeting” it’s been 2 DAYS!!!
OUR CONTAINER WAS SENT TO THE WRONG STATE AND WE STILL DON’T HAVE IT!!Our moving container was supposed to be delivered to Ohio from Oklahoma on 6/5/19. Pack Rat called us 6/5 stating somehow the container was sent to Dallas, Texas. 6/7 I had to call them today to follow up because I had not heard anything yesterday. As if today they still can not tell us when it will be delivered. This is ridiculous!!! I did not want to post a bad review because prior to this fiasco every time I had to call them customer service was excellent. Soon family members and friends will be posting this on their social media to warn others that this could happen to them.Very frustrated with this company.
I have a mental disability. They AUCTIONED off MY POD while I was in a mental health hospital!!!!!! They wont give me my things back or contact the person bought it all. It was nothing of importance but to me. MY Babies Christmas Things. My Babies Baby Book! Their toys!!! This company didnt even tell me it was being auctioned. I am contacting a lawyer. Whoever bought my pod... You are a monster. Thanks for Ruining my Christmas.

We moved across three states. So many things went wrong along the way it was an ABSOLUTELY NIGHTMARE. The only thing that went right was the delivery of our pod by 1 800 Pack Rat.

2022-08-16Late delivering the unit for both the start and end locations, hassled, hustled, and lied to. When we booked the original delivery our unit was scheduled to arrive on a Friday, we were called and told it would be near the end of the day, then called again and told it wouldnt arrive at all because the delivery truck broke down and we were told we would receive a call from their call center about when it would arrive. We never received a call so we called back several hours later. The call center was not helpful and refused to put management on the phone claiming they would send an email to have a manager call us back(which we requested in the end), but stated we wouldnt receive a delivery till Sunday. It took the manager till 9pm the next day to call us, which we missed the call as the time he called should have been considered too late in the evening to attempt contact with a customer. Additionally we were told we would be refunded $50 dollars for each day it was late arriving, but they still billed us the full amount and had to argue with them about holding up their end of the deal. Now as of today we should be receiving our box for unloading, but we have been told once again that we will not receive it on the promised date because not one, but all of their trucks are broken and they dont know when they will be fixed. This company is a poorly managed, poorly set up, sham of a company, whos only good employees seem to be the drivers. DO NOT RECOMEND! Use anyone else.Update:They rescheduled our delivery for 8 to12 the next day and never notified us so we had to call to find out. The next day the delivery didnt show up during that time frame and once again had to call them to find that they rescheduled it without notifying us. In addition we never received a call letting us know that the box was on its way. The box may very well have arrived with no one available to receive it if we had not been vigilant and we would have likely had to wait another week for our items. In addition I found out that the branch that had our box only has 3 trucks and all 3 were broken down, any reputable establishment has back up equipment so that when vital equipment goes down work flow is not interrupted and repairs can be made in the meantime. Poor show of service, packrat. We will see how long it takes to get your box out of my driveway, itll be good riddance, we will never use your service again, and neither will anyone we know. Lazy, unprofessional, and disorganized is the only way I can describe your company.

2022-06-30Cant recommend them enough! Moving is a nightmare no matter which way you look at it. We moved from Colorado to Ohio and they were helpful and professional every step of the way. Pricing was fair, no hidden charges or shady contracts. They even helped to arrange movers once we got to Ohio. Not one thing in the entire two containers we moved was damaged. Im never moving again but if I did I would call them in a heartbeat!

2021-09-30We rented a Pack Rat pod for a recent move and needed to have the pod temporarily housed in their local temperature-controlled warehouse. Since this is the first time that we have ever done anything like this, we researched all companies that offered this type of service and decided to go with Pack Rat. We had a great experience with the entire process. The individuals that delivered the pod and picked it up from the initial location as well as the new location were very professional and prompt. Our pod was in storage for four months. Upon unpacking it, we found no issues. I would highly recommend Pack Rat for a move and/or storage.

2021-08-17BEWARE: Delivery dates are a scam!!I booked a long distance move with Packrat and they guaranteed that my container would arrive between 10-15 business days and even scheduled a delivery date for the day after tomorrow. I called last week to confirm all this and they told me its on its way, but couldnt tell me where exactly. Today I called to see if I could find out more about the deliver time and they told me the container hasnt even left the point of origin! Its still across the country and hasnt budged since it was picked up!The notes even say Immediate Dispatch but clearly that didnt happen weeks ago when it was supposed to and they cant tell me when it will actually leave the depot or when it might finally arrive.Meanwhile, I have rented an apartment based on the pod delivery date and have utility costs but nothing to sleep on except hardwood floors, so thats all money wasted that I have no idea if they will reimburse.If they were going to be so delayed, they should have told me ages ago so that I could have planned properly and found backup options. The lack of information and solutions is also incredibly frustrating. I have no idea how long I could be waiting. A long distance move is hard enough without all your stuff getting held hostage.I DO NOT recommend using packrat, maybe try one of the other pod services or just haul your own stuff if you can.

2021-07-13Very disappointed in the fact that this company offers a 10% discount for a few groups of people that we fit into and it was never offered to us when we signed up with them. I found this out after they have been paid in full. After calling in and waiting on hold for 1:04 min as usual, they told me they would credit me $100 for the discount and customer satisfaction. They quoted me one price then raised it $3500 once we were ready to make arrangements to get it delivered. This is a discount? This is how they do business? I am not ok with this and I will continue to post and blog my disappointment every where so no one is deceived by this company and has to pay thousands of dollars more then agreed to and quoted in the first stage of their slick entrapment to get their belongings back. They know they can raise their price and customers have no choice but to pay it. I will confront the Attorney General, BBB, TV media and as many other places I can as I feel completely deceived, taken advantage of and manipulated. Beware of this company.

2020-05-10We rented the 16 foot container for a move across 11 states. Both the drivers I spoke with were kind and helpful. The whole process couldn’t have gone smoother, from the ordering phase, where the previous price I had from another pod company was not only matched but beaten. The 16 ft container I got did have a small hole on the outside (that was patched)but it did not pose an issue to my stuff. The most amazing part is that the pod is loaded and unloaded completely level. We worked hard to tie things down as directed by our drop off driver but not a single thing was broken. Each time the driver was in his way for drop off or pickup I received a courtesy call. This was a better then expected outcome for us!! Very happy with the service and price for our family’s cross country move!
